It depends on what type of heart disease your dog has been diagnosed with. Our dog has a murmur from a heart valve and is doing fine so far.

What did the vet say? What kind of heart disease? Does he sound encouraging? How old is your dog? All you can do is all you can do. I hope all goes well..good luck.

By the way Lesser Wizard..I think everyone can figure out a vet is a veterinarian since we are in the DOG/ANIMAL section.

It depends what are we talking about here? A huge murmur? A slight murmur? An enlarged heart? If its a murmur you guys just discovered there will be no treatment for it because its not very serious. Now if its an enlarged heart, your vet will give you something called lasix that should keep that under control. But def. go into your vet and see what they have to say about it. Good luck.

Yeah, but it will cost you a bunch of money. Check with a local veterinarian. I am a vet, but a veteran. Try not to use abbreviations when the shortened form is ambiguous, people.

Dont worry. If your dog is still young and strong the doc can cure any curable heart disorder.I will pray for your dog.
