The world is mostly Christian. Prophet Mohammad was the founder of Islam. Muslims follow Mohammad's teachings, Christians follow Jesus', Buddhists follow Buddha's and so it goes on. Since Muslims occupy a minority, it seems as though Prophet Mohammad is ignored. But it is not so.

Ganch (and many others too) might be surprised to learn that the world is 67% non-Christian - that for every one Christian in the world, there are two people who are not - and that Islam is the world's second biggest religion. Different growth rates suggest that Islam may overtake Christianity within our lifetimes.

Of course, being a nominal Muslim doesn't mean that you obey the Prophet Muhammad. And not being a nominal Muslim doesn't mean you disobey the Prophet. Good people of any religious faith (or no religion at all) will have many things in common - they will help their fellow man, they will respect other people, and they will try to live their lives in keeping with their understanding of right and wrong. In my opinion, we should consider everyone who does that, regardless of their faith, as obeying the Prophet, and all other prophets and all other holy people who try to make the world a better place.

As for why the world doesn't recite the shahada and practice the other of the five pillars, well, that's mostly for cultural and family reasons. The vast majority of people in the world tend to follow whatever faith their parents believe in. There is no objective way to say that one is preferable to the others. All people who do good are good and all people who do bad are bad.

I think a better question is why Islamic terrorists don't obey the ideals represented by the stories of Mohammad? Supposedly, Mohammad preached ideas of love and tolerance. How is blowing **** up tolerant?

Probably because from a Christian point of view, true prophets testify of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. Also, I put more stock in a live prophet than a dead one. Have a happy day.

Because the message that Mohammad gave was for his tribe, his people. Each tribe across the planet has their own ancestral gods, their own ancestral prophets. The message of one tribe is not always well-suited for another tribe. To each their own.

People blind themselves, they keep the veils over their eyes hiding their own vision. People want the familiar, and to most in the West, that's Christianity. (Or, as someone in another post so cleverly put it, Westernanity.)

Arrogance and closed-mindedness. And the ones who believe only the bad stuff about Islam on tv, they're blind sheep, followers.

Because the muslim religion leads to muslim theocratic government. That leads to no freedom. No freedom of the press.
No freedom of speach.
No freedom of religion.
Also Muslims have no sense of humor.
If you don't agree , tell me of a country with muslim theocracy with a comedy club. Does Iran have a comedy club? Saudi?
How about afghanistan? Muslims have killed people over a cartoon.

Why does the world not obey God who taught us to love one another, to forgive one another, to live in peace & harmony with each other, to walk in love, to walk the 2nd mile, to walk the walk of peace & reconciliation with God and with man, as Jesus did. Why?
