I think perhaps some people are afraid of being accused of blasphemy. But truth is truth... Most, if not all, denominations have gotten something wrong... interpreted something incorrectly, or said something ill-mannered and uninformed against someone. We all have faults because we are all human (all have sinned... you know.. that old chestnut)

The Bible clearly states that the church will have certain offices and certain gifts... within any given church body all those should be present. Sometimes what we are afraid of is completely yeilding to God... because it means that we are no longer in control. That is a tough concept for many.

The devil likes confusion in the church... makes his job easier. Unfortunately because there are so many translations and so many denominations, nothing of any import is likely to be accomplished until we can set aside our differences and (as the Bible says) "reason together."

No one is afraid of accepting that some interpretations are wrong. But they are afraid of accepting publicly. That is because if I say "xyz" version is wrong the next thing I hear is from members of "xyz" that I am wrong. Bible is translated into so many languages that one mistake for translation leaves several mistakes and if each denomination is the offspring of a mitaken translation we are all hands tied.No one really knows the mother tongue of Jesus and none knows the truth.
Accept it or not the disadvantage of Bible is that it can be interpreted by a linguist instead of a religious leader unlike Quran, Bhagavadgitha or other Sriptures which can be only taught by experts

I believe that its not fair to judge an entire denomination, there are good tenets and not so good tenets in every religion. it's the tenets that should be questioned, and in the case of some which incite violence (such as holy war), they should even be banned. I believe that in the search for truth you need to keep an open mind.Dogma is a contradiction to the true essence of religion.

Get an exhaustive concordance or go to www.e-sword.net and download the main program. In Matthew 4 verse 4, and in Luke 4 verse 4 Jesus is quoted as saying that man should live by EVERY word of God. The Bible is the only authority. Look up words like soul, hell, and spirit and read EVERY verse. As an example of how to check churches go to this link: http://www.acts1711.com/jesus2a.htm Pray fervently and ask God to help you and protect you from being deceived. He Will.

If you examine other cultures, other religions, and other time periods, you will find many similar beliefs. Life afer death, the concept of evil. Many of these cultures devloped these concepts on their own with no outside influence, for example, the Native American Indian. Look for similarities to your religion. It may comfort you to know that Christians are not alone in their desire to do good deeds. It may bother you to know how much torture and despair Christians have caused. We may be afraid because we know that as humans we are capable of great evil, and in this fear we should remember we are also capable of great kindness and compassion.

i don't mean to disrespect or slander your religion, but let me suggest something to you that you may not have thought about: have you considered that ALL denominations may be wrong? if you expect others to indulge your notion then you should seriously consider being open to the idea that maybe your entire religion may -- repeat: MAY -- be false. Keep in mind this is also one viable answer to the question you posed as well.

Because one day we will find out we are not the centre of the universe and god may have created others in his image also.

Earth's religions are just that - local. Not worth fighting or haggling over. Look up and outwards as well as in and inwards.

May the Force be with you!

If you are in doubt just remember than people can have their own opinion. but if you wanted to know who is right you have to go back to the bible and checked out your self, but don't forget to ask the Holly Spirit to help you to find out who is right(the Bible is the maximum Authority)Check Matthew 7:15,16,17,18,19 & 20: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolfs. (I'm sorry,I speak Spanish & can't write in English to fast,so please check the above verses in your Bible,OK. GOD BLESS YOU.
