Earth makes a complete rotation about its axis means that a point on its surface rotates by 2*pi radians about the Earth's axis (i.e. N-S-axis).The time to perform this 1 complete rotation is 1day divided into 24 hours. So, angular speed of rotation is, omega = (2*pi)/(24*3600) rad/sec. This value is constant and doesn't depend on the radius of Earth. So, even if the radius is halved or changed to any other finite positive value, the rotational speed remains the same. Hence, same angular displacement in same time and thus the length of day remains 24 hours.

Observers of the sun note that our day is 24 hours long. If the diameter of the earth was reduced by half (without loss of mass) the day would be much shorter because of conservation of rotational momentum. A figure skater can spin at faster and faster speeds by pulling in her arms (reducing her diameter). The new speed would of course depend on the new distribution of mass. If the earth's diameter is reduced by half by pealing off layers (and losing mass) far more than half the mass would be lost. The length of the day for the "new" earth would not change because the remaining earth would still have the same momentum that portion of the earth originally had.

By monitoring starts.
Egyptian divided day into 24 hours, except each hours had different length depending on the season.
As long as speed of rotation is same, diameter does not matter to the length of the day. (Same reason it does not matter how big your analog clock is, it takes 12 hours for short arm to rotate full circle.)
But, it would be half the distance from where you are to Hawaii, and 1/4 space on the earth and will be very crowded.

For a history of the 24 hour day, try this link:

If you reduce the earths diameter by half, the results will depend on exactly how you make the reduction.

It takes that much time (24 hours) for the Earth to rotate once on its axis. Its a function of the speed at which Earth rotates on its orbit and the time involved.
If the diameter of the earth is halved, logically it should take half as much time for the earth to complete one rotation !

thats how long it takes the world to make one spin, and noone knows exactly who the person was that thought that up. If earths diameter was reduced by half, our days would be half as long.

actually there are 4 seperate days that make up the earth day and it doesnt matter the diameter. there are 4 corners to the time day. scientists are evil!

hi^^ I purely choose to help shed some gentle in this concern. What we are speaking approximately is a words from a what became very historical and from an entire diverse custom than ours. God wasn't telling us how He created the international. returned, it particularly is a non secular tale attempting to describe to us particularly approximately God. we don't be attentive to how long an afternoon for God is. might desire to God created the international in seven days? specific. Did He easily? Who particularly knows. numerous observations get up purely from this speedy interpreting. First, this passage won't easily lend itself to logical prognosis. for example, there is an "night and morning" for 3 days earlier there's a solar to stipulate days. This, to boot as different helpful properties, potential that a logical or literal interpreting of this passage will maximum probable omit what it is making an attempt to communicate. because of the fact the Jewish "day" became traditionally measured from sunset till sunset day after immediately, the indisputable fact that the days are marked as "night and morning" potential that we are handling a fashion of describing time that comes from a Jewish cultural history. it is an confirmation approximately God he's the beginning up of all. His love knows no bounds. The objective of its author needless to say became to jot down a historic account. He makes use of " " to set a clean meaning as to the powers of God. In creation,God created the universe, the earth, the solar, moon and stars, plant life and animals, and the 1st 2 human beings ^^. Greek philosophy, which led to them to interpret the days as allegorical. Many comprehend after plenty learn they reasoned that the creation ‘days’ have been related to God’s events, and God being undying meant that the ‘days’ might desire to no longer be related to human time. returned asserting that God is undying. i'm hoping this facilitates a splash, As continually, seek for, learn, hit upon,Love, Your Sister In Christ
