No, the visa waiver allows Brits to visit the US as tourists for 90 days as you will not be working.It's a courtesy especially for Brit tourists. It's not extended to many other countries. You need a visa to WORK in the US, absolutely.

what a shallow reason for visiting the USA the 90 day excempt visa doent allow you to overstay if you do the chances are you will have major problems returning to USA

if you r getting married for a visa you will still have to return for to UK then get wife to apply for a spouse visa then you can go back to us

first off you should contact www.travel.state.gov for further info..secomnd off if you marry an american then you can stay here cuz you will then be able to renew your visa

your best shot would be to simply ASK !! The Americans have clamped down somewhat on what they deem to be *GreenCard Marriages*, but if you're totally up-front with them you should probably be okay
