No. Having a child in the United States does not convey special status for a woman or a couple. The child, though a US citizen, will generally leave the US with the parents whenever their legal status in the US expires. However, the child, once having attained legal age, may petition for the parents to come to the US as legal immigrants.
The US is unique in that it allows anyone born on its soil the right to US citizenship. Many foreigners time their "tourist" travel to the US to coincide with their delivery date, and many people in the US illegally make producing a baby in the US a top priority; if all of the maternity costs can be passed on the taxpayers, all the better.

Anchor babies! The filthiest, sleaziest, intentionally criminal acts perpetrated by would be foreign invaders. She knew that she was about to drop when she, A) Went on holiday,
B) Decided no visa was necessary for a little hike in the Arizona desert, C) Sighing relief that labor started before she was caught and deported. Forget option A, what lack of humanity would use an unborn/new born in such a fashion? But they were desperate! Yeah! To commit a crime and get away with it, using an unborn/new born to do it.

If they really are visiting - then why would they NOT take their child with them when they supposedly planned to return??
Such a strawman reeks of someone trying to subvert the system and is an example of just what many are trying to do in an attempt to get around legally coming to the United States.
Such is why I am against what many term 'anchor baby' status and am pressing for a change in law on that point.

Why are we here for!!
We work hard everyday, honestly pay our taxes - and these people come here and have babies! and the entire family thrives on welfare.
The working people in USA, support their family + 1 welfare family.
Its high time, we ammend the laws.
No, the parents and the baby should be sent to the parent country and the baby can come back when he/she is of the legal age..18 or 21?

Yes. By all means, it is a Human Rights question. The USA professes to be a champion of the protection of Human Rights. How can it quote the Municipal laws to deny green card permission to the parents of a US citizen?

sure was a long visit, they should have went back home, for the baby was born.but they wanted their baby to be born a citizen, thats how a lot of these illegals, get the whole welfare thing started.i bet welfare paid for that baby to be born too.no they should be deported, and take their baby home.nobody goes to another country visiting, when its time for a baby to be born, most doctors wont let you travel out of state, after your 7th month, more less to another country.

Since you say that the parents are "VISITING" the US, you are implying that they are going to return to their home country.
The baby is dual citizen. Born in the US (US citizen) of whatever country it's parents are from (whatever country citizen). Once the parents return to their home country, they can work to support their child, AND, if they so desire, initiate the paperwork to enter the US as immigrants.

Well he is automatically a citizen, I believe they can apply for residency because of the status of their son. Now, I am not 100% sure, but the INS webpage will have that information for them....Good luck!

I think that you have to have a special work visa to be able to work here unless you do as the illegals do.
