no place. when he said when you seen me you seen the Father. he did not mean that he was God. Jesus was with Jehovah for billions of years so he knows Jehovah real well. Jesus is the son of Jehovah God. no god himself. who was Jesus praying to, you can not pray to yourself. he was praying to his Father Jehovah.

In Matthew 9, Mark 2 and Luke 5, Jesus forgave the sins of a paraplegic before He healed the man. Everyone who was present understood that only God could forgive sins, and if Jesus was not God, it would be blasphemy. But then Jesus healed the man, which was so much harder to do than to simply tell someone that their sins were forgiven--if indeed telling someone that was just talk.

There are other passages as well that point to Jesus as being God, but these passages above are probably a few of the best ones in pointing out that if Jesus had the authority to forgive sins--which by definition are offenses against God's law--then He is indeed God.

I normally handle this question, first of all, by noticing certain verses from the Old Testament that are quoted in the New Testament. I look at those verses in the Old Testament, noticing that in the Old Testament they clearly apply *only* to God; and then I look at how they are used in the New Testament, and see that they are applied to... Jesus. Even in some cases by Jesus Himself. Which would indeed be blasphemy, unless it were true...

Jesus as 'God with us': Isaiah 7:14 (cited in Matthew 1:23).

Jesus as both Son and God: Isaiah 9:6.

Only one God: Deuteronomy 6:4 (cited in Mark 12:29)

God/Jesus as 'I AM' - Exodus 3:14; John 8:58.

By Me every tongue shall swear: Isaiah 45:23, Philippians 2:9-11.

The only Savior: Isaiah 43:3, 11-12; 45:21; Acts 4:10-12.

I, even I, blot out your transgressions: Isaiah 43:25; Jeremiah 31:34; Mark 2:12-12.

The First and the Last: Isaiah 41:4; 44:6; 48:12; Revelation 1:18; 2:8; 22:13.

The LORD is our Judge: Isaiah 33:22; John 5:22, 27

Also of interest perhaps will be some verses about Jesus' death and resurrection as proof of Who He is. Notice that all over the Old Testament, God is referred to as 'the Living God' (too many references to give here)...

Rising from the dead as proof of Who Jesus is: Acts 17:31; Romans 1:1-4 (especially verse 4).

Jesus - life in Himself: John 5:26

Jesus - authority to lay down life and take it back up again: John 10:17-18.

Jesus never says that He is God...as in God the Father, He always stated that He was the Son of that Father. And that verse, "the Father and I are one"...well of course they're one, if you have seen the Son you also see the Father; but that doesn't mean that Jesus is then God the Father. Even Christ promoted the Trinity Idea...although I don't know why people don't believe it, or ignore it; but either way, oh well.
Jesus is God's Son...simple as that, He never claimed to be God the Father...just the Son of God...happy Trinity everyone.

But you have already proven your point on the subject in a unseen sublte way. There is only one reason why Jesus did what he did. At that time, the time of Jesus, he came to earth and became a savior only because we could not do it ourselves. We could not save ourselves. We all have the power to save ourselves, but people choose to give their own responsibilities to someone else and not worry about anything. But do not get me wrong. There are many that do their best to live a good life. I respect that the most when it comes to meeting someone. But at times, just going day to day, trying to be good (of what good means in their own mind) isn't enough. Why do you think the phrase "Stairway to Heaven" meant? We take steps. It is a growing process. One must be open. This is where the metaphysics come in just as much as faith. You have to fully understand the science aspect of life just as much as the creative aspect. And keep in mind that the scientific and creative aspects are actually two sides of the same coin. There are many steps one takes. Steps to realize God and eventually go up and walk with him. It is quite possible to do this physically if your soul is advanced enough. There is much fun when going this direction. But for most, there is much of the unknown. I hope this is what you were looking for, though you have already proven your point. Cheers!

Actually, there isn't. Jesus is specifically God's son. The idea that Jesus is God was created in the Fourth century A.D. If you look up the history on the Holy Trinity, you'll find it, but I can't think of it right off the top of my head for the source. Either way, the Holy Trinity proclaimed that there were three seperate entities that maintained one God. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. This is why many call Jesus God.

In John 10:20, it does say, "I and God are one."

"This verse, however is quoted out of context. The complete passage, starting with John 10:23, reads as follows:

"And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly. Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one."

They are one in purpose, not in being.

Philippians 2:6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
There are many times that Jesus calls Himself the "I AM"..in Jewish beliefs they KNEW that there was only ONE GOD...& since Jesus was claiming to be the Son of God..that would mean that He was God..or He was a liar.

Properly interpreted in context, there are no Biblical passages where Jesus says that he is God. Jesus did say that he was "one with God." That statement is true for all of us. We are not separate, no matter how hard organized religion seeks to create a chasm between humanity and God.

gospel of john 3:16 refers to the son of god. however this can be read figuratively or literally. the speaker is jesus.
what's more jesus speaks of it in the past tense. god sent. the way it reads, he doesn't appear to be speaking about himself; and if he is he probably meant by son, that he had a relationship with god. he does refer to himself as son of god, but his followers are refered to as children of god, like the essenes were refered to as sons of light. this appears to be a popular way of expressing a relationship with god in palestine at that period.
