I think you are right. In the bible people are told to deaden their body members,.............. and yet when you are married there is no need for masterbation, looking at other women's bodies, or other behaviour such as this. To the contrary, we are told to give our 'mate' his/her due - and to not withhold it from each other.
Restraint and unselfishness toward a partner can also be learned together - in the marriage arrangement. They can learn how they are aroused - together - as marriage is the perfect bond of union. Learning together keeps you close. The 'need' you have for your mate keeps you communicating and not wandering off with an 'I don't love you, or need you" attitude.
It is interesting that when it is something that people 'want' they can find no reason to call it sinful or dirty behaviour. Of course it is - sex is for married couples not for a man to find his own way to 'sexual satisfaction' - this only breeds extreme selfishness = particularly in men, but women too.
Masterabation is not making love or the joining of two people - it is not supposed to be all about your 'private parts.' God meant for 'two' people to find 'mutual' satisfaction in the most obvious and natural way. You are obviously not supposed to have sex with yourself!
There is more to it than 'populating' since marriage and sexul fullfillment is about joining in love. People are not starving because of overpopulation - and that was never the point of condemning masterbation.
People are 'starving' because of selfishness and greed.
This is a very worthy question - thank you for asking it.

Oh my...hahahahaha...see, this is why I no longer go to church; because of stupid questions and the asinine beliefs (I must add that the asinine beliefs I am in reference to is from the people, not from Christ).
Masturbation is not a sin, in my opinion, it is healthy and it helps one know themselves...as in, what are your turn on's and such. As far as marrying young keeping you from having "sexual relations" with others...that is a joke. If there is no love or sexual desire for the other, and whatever other reasons people come up with there will always be adultery.
And the whole marrying as soon as you feel sexual desire...some girls and boys feel sexual tension as young as 7...think they should marry? Although, I'm almost afraid that someone like you would say yes....
Just because you have sexual desire and tension doesn't mean you're ready for marriage; I was lucky, I married at 16 to a wonderful man that has helped me to grow...do you think a 7 year old can help a 9 year old grow?
For goodness sake...people need to stop being so idiotic and inane...wake up and smell the coffee.

Who told you masturbation was a sin? Sperm last about 72 hours after it is made and you produce enough to impregnate every women in the worlds in around the same amount of time. And that is just you. I don't think God would really be worried about it being wasted. You've been lead to believe that you should marry young and have lots of children and increase the population on this already overpopulated rock. Yeah, that's smart. We can't feed the numbers we have now. Understand, the story of Noah and the Arc predates the bible by a few thousand years in Greek mythology. The bible was written by men who were just repeating a bunch of old stories and then rewritten and interpolated and rewritten again. Way do you think it says King James VERSION right on it. Stop being a sheeple and go find God on your own and stop listening to the jerk with a white collar and a little boy on his lap.

Marriage does not prevent adultary or masturbation. Neither of which is an unnatural practice.

90% of men masturbate (10% lie) and 80% of women masturbate.

Adultary rates for men are 60-80% and for women it's 40-60%. That means most people have affairs and masturbate. Marriage won't prevent this.

Becoming a nun might help.

Married people are unfaithful more than you think, for starters. Masturbation is not unhealthy or sinful by my religion's standards. The younger people marry, the higher the chance of getting a divorce.

what planet are you from? Doctors recommend masturbation for medical purposes its good for you. It also helps relieve stress. Its not a sin, going out and sleeping with several women before your married is a sin. Its better to wait until your older before you get married because most people who marry at a very young age are more statistically proven to get divorced. I think god can forgive you for masturbating there are worse sins out there that you could commit aside from masturbating. geesh

Marriage is not just about sex.

A general definition of marriage is that it is a social contract between two individuals (man and woman) that unites their lives legally, economically and emotionally.

Being married also gives legitimacy to sexual relations within the marriage.

Well, there is some sence in it. But again, is there no other solutions?

I cannot fault you. But married young have the side effect, for the 2 may not be stable emotionally.

Anyway, I do agree that sex within marriage is the sweetest.
