Well it depends on what his age is....
I guess if your mom says it's okay it is a good sign, cause she (hopefully) is looking out for you.
The main thing to keep in mind is - What does a X year old guy see in a 17 year old girl? What is his reason for pursuing you? Why isn't he dating a girl his own age?
Also, I'd be suspicious of a guy saying he loves you if he hasn't known you that long. Some guys will say anything to get what they want from a girl. The "I love you" line is an easy one, because sometimes when a guy says that to a girl, a girl might feel pressured into going farther than she'd normally be comfortable, because she might feel like she has to show the guy that she cares for him as well.
Be careful and take things SLOW if you carry on a relationship with this guy.

It's ok but it might hurt. No matter how mature you are, emotionally and intellectually, he has lived much more experiences than you, so your perceptions of things are necessarily very different.
If he's caring enough and you are wise enough, you both will be fine, but if one of you behaves with rigidity, it won't work.
Here's a piece an advice, which applies no matter how old your date is: never start a date or relationship with the expectation that it will be the love of your life. Just enjoy the moments, then if it's meant to be, it will last, if not, well... that's life.
All the best

Dating a guy and marrying a man is 2 different issues. You can date any older guy you want. If you are considering marriage then personally I think not more than 9yrs older. Any age more 9yrs there could be generation gap, social and communication problem. My husband is 7yrs older than me, we are great together, I had date a guy 9yrs older I would say that's the furthest i could go.

Can you bring him home to Mother?? Is he the kind of guy your Dad or important person in your life could have a conversation with? I would be concerned about how mature he is? Does he have many friends? His age? What type of activities does he like? Is the relationship physical? Hopefully not, that would be foolish for him ( your a minor)...just ask yourself the tough questions..why are we doing this? Do we have common interests? Same sort of lifestyle, family..ect...check yourself and him....life isn't easy, but it can be alot of fun if done right...good luck

17 with parental permission is old enough to make your own decisions...but if you doubt yourself maybe not but then when are you going to be old enough? If at 17 you havent reached maturity then theres a good chance you still wont be at 46...you have to grow up sometime and start making decisions...and adult is adult...So you decide if you are ready aparently you mom thinks your mature enough...but go by you own fellings if you are not mature enough to handle adult situations than I would say wait...but as i said before If at 17 your not ready you probably never will be.

If you're 17, I would think that anyone older than 21 would be a problem. Please don't believe that he loves you simply because he said it...your right, you haven't known him that long and how much do you really know about him at all?

Yes I think it is ok but I would take it real slow with this guy and see if he really loves you,I think 20-21 would be about the oldest that you should be seeing. Take Care
