my boyfriend and i have been going out for about 9 months now, and its gotten pretty serious for our age. (nothing dirty) and he's been causing craploads of drama in my life and i am sick and tired of it. I want to break up with him so bad, i just dont know what to say because we NEED to stay friends. we are in the same circle of friends and we broke up once before (he did it very meanly) and then we both ended up at the same party that same week. can you say awkward?? so how do i go about doing this??

I don't know how old are you, but believeme, there are no nice break ups. Of course you can still be friends, but some time may have to pass. You have to allow him space and time to get over you if he is crushed about the break up, if he is not ready to be friends, there's not much you can do but wait. There might be some awekwardness, but you'll have to learn to deal with it and so will he.

I wish you the best

Honesty is always important. If you get all the questions out of the way, there will be nothing left to discuss.
Considering you bf is so heavy into the drama, it's likely that the breakup will not only be ugly, but also will be drawn out at great length. He may very well spread rumours about you, or try to turn your mutual friends against you.
You may have to face the reality that he might not want to be friends with you any longer, and yes things will be awkward, but prolonging this relationship won't help things either.

I don't usually codone this, but if you're wanting to avoid more drama, you could lie about the breakup. For example, make up some story about you being extremely depressed - well I guess it's not that far from the truth- and that you need some time to alone. I'm guessing if you're straight forward with him or accuse him of causing too much of the drama in your life that he'll turn this into the biggest epsiode ever.

Be careful and good luck.

Just tell him the truth...drama is over!!! You don't need all of that crap in your life. you can hang with the same friends, just ignore the 'Diva' ex; acknowledge he's there and that's it. Don't let him run you friends away from you. Just act like you don't care one way or another. And soon, you won't.

there's absolutely no way you can break up nicely. no matter what you say, he'll either end up hating you and act like an *** or be awkward by ignoring you or just making forced conversations.

good luck, though

Be honest, tell him you don't need drama and you want to break up but still be friends.
