It has been proven that many biblical stories were actually ancient stories that were stolen and put into the bible. Specifically, the story of Adame is the original story of adam and eve. But, christianity changed a couple points and made it their own. Also, there is no proof of any of the claims made in the bible or the stories. Does that mean I should believe Steven King when he says a killer clown attacked and killed people?
Also, historical research has found that the bible has glaring omissions and additions to the original bible as well as glaring errors that are obvious attempts to manipulate the original text to meet the agenda of the writers and editors of the King James version.
Tangible proof versus blind faith... I challenge you to respond with something that is not blind faith, bible verses, or flat out opinion.

Had a good point there. No, the original of Adame does not exist to our knowledge. However, written forms of it predating the birth of Christ by a considerable time have been found and verified as from that time period.
As for the claim of 95.5% accuracy. Might want to look into that. Anyone can spout off statistics and pretend they are true. Challenge me to cite my sources. Do the same please.
My opinions/statements are based on years of research in a variety of texts ranging from basic history books to transcripts of interviews with experts in various languages the bible was written in and interpeted too. To cite them would be lengthy, boring, and honestly I doubt anyone is going to spend the time looking for them. So, I would just get blasted for making them up.

I am quite impressed! There are some very intelligent and persuasive people on here. I thought you had all gone. My only real comeback to many of the comments is that they are from one-sided and possibly biased sources. I attempted to the best of my ability to research a variety of texts, interviews, and opinions/research and found the generalities I made are fair. I am a historian. With graduate history and political science degrees with Ancient history and Wartime emphasis.
I was looking for a intelligent argument and a heated debate and I got it. Those that responded with well thought out and defended opinions, I bow to you. You have done your religion proud.

You have to realize that the Bible was written by human beings, just like you and me. Some of the books were "devinely inspired," so to speak, but still written by human beings. They were also written in Hebrew and Aramaic. These languages do not translate well to English. So, yes, there are things like omissions, etc. I think the Bible is meant to be discussed and interpreted. I don't believe in "letter of the law." God wants us to think for ourselves and not swallow what is fed to us.
The Christian faith is flawed in many ways that most Christians are unaware of. The holiday of Easter was never celebrated by Jesus and was actually a pagan holiday that Christians adopted. Sunday was not the original Sabbath - Saturday was. The list goes on.
Don't get me wrong. I consider myself a believer in God. But I believe that humans are flawed and make mistakes and that those mistakes exist everywhere, even in every faith there is.
So why do I believe in God at all, you ask? Well, it is a personal thing and I can only say that He has proven Himself to me. I have physically felt His presence. And my faith wanes, I must admit, because of all of these things, and many other questions. But I still can't seem to stop believing. To me, it is not blind faith, because I'm no better at that than you are!
I hope that this is a decent answer for you. Good luck in your searches.

You're speaking in general terms - if you want a specific answer with "tangible proof" you may try being more specific than "there is no proof of any of the claims made in the Bible or the stories."
I think you're talking about the belief in a Goddess "Eve" that creates and births Adam from herself. If that's true, then the Bible actually reversed that tale, taking out the incest completely, which I think was uncommon in other creation stories of the time.

there was a real killer clown, John Wayne Gacy
never heard the Adame story but a bunch of other ones, like the flood in Epic of Gilgamech, and Perseus was born of Danae and raised by father figure Dictys, etc. ya know what else is kinda funny, Acts 4:13 "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled. They recognized that they had been with Jesus." If they were illiterate how did John write five books and Peter two books of the new testament?

Sir,
Please forgive me but why am I even though I am not really called a Christian by the name [I am called a "NO"] subjected to a guideline by you that you did not follow in your comments. In your comments there is no factual proof, just accepted by you positions that you chose to accept. Thus it appears to me you can use faith in your position by those that answer can not use faith in their answer. What kind of game is this?
Where is your proof of any of the so called facts your did present? Don't give me a research report because maybe the reporter did lie. Don't just talk about the omissions, prove them to be omissions. Don't just say they are made up or adopted stories, prove it as fact.
Why not believe Steven King, maybe he saw a killer clown or maybe he was the killer clown.
Let us make it a fair game with fair rules and then let us do it. You email me at cjkeysjr@yahoo.com.ph and we will deal with facts only that can be proved or disproved. Are you Game?
Let us do it with a smile, no fighting, enjoy the adventure and maybe both of us will learn from it.

Even scientist are theorizing that the first man came from Africa: The same place that is talked about in Genesis: The garden of Edon, according to the bible was made a desolate place, with a desert surrounding the tree of knowledge of good and evil: So you are not only calling the Bible lies, but you are also calling all of the Scientist who believe they have found the bones of the first man Lie's:
Does this make you feel better about your own insecure self?

Wow! It's been PROVEN that many biblical stories were ancient stories stolen by God and put into the Bible!
Historical "RESEARCH" has found omissions and additions to the original Bible, errors????
Well, you'd better come up with your "tangible" proof on those statements little fella. Good luck.

first of all do you have any proof to your claim about the adame thing? we have no autographs for the OT is there any documentation Originals of adame? we have some manuscripts of the OT no autographs
as for your claim that the KJ version added to and manipulated the original version..where did you here that? the KJ version was written 1611 A.D. from the original hebrew into greek. comparing the original to the KJ version, there is 95.5 percent accuracy with the 4.5 percent error in spelling, nothing that would take or add to the message therein the Bible. try again
as far as 'additions to the original' the NT was written directly from the source Autograph is that tangible enough?

Well let us start out with www.biblicalarchaeology.org The proof is opening up every day now it seems. I am not going to sit here and debate this issue with a mindless moron.
Time to read up on the subject as I have and many many people who are well learned with PhD's. People do not go to college and study this stuff if it were all myth, mind you.
Clearly you do not understand that King James was the second English translation and not the original one. You need to do your homework.
You want tangible proof? It is out there and it has been out there for decades. Your just too lazy to go look for it.
Lee Strobel of the Chicago Tribune has written two nice books on the subject recently... why don't you get off your lazy butt and check them out?
Now this message is not written in anger... I am tired of dealing with people such as you. There are genuine people out there that want answers... and people like you are a waste of valuable time.

What's your point? I mean, take the Adame story for example. If you've found numerous sources, even before the Bible, hinting at it, then it only implies that the story is probably true. As for the rest of the argument, I'm not going to waste my precious time answering them.

im Catholic, and i dont take the Bible word for word, i was taught to use the lessons the Bible taught us and derive things from the stories and the details were not that important to me. I think of love hope faith and being good to people, not if Noah was in a real flood etc. the Bible is just other peoples interpretations of what happened and to think that they were all true and there was nothing lost in translation i think is just unreasonable.

People, it is fact that much of the christian symbology is taken (stolen) from previous beliefs. It was easier for people to be forced to accept this new faith.
Don't forget that Christianity is the absolute newest religion in history. How can it trump all the others? And how can you not think that things were lost in translation. Blind faith is the downfall of man.
