Yes you do receive the fruits of your actions whether good or bad. That is the natural law of the Universe. Here is a good quote about it:

"All our continuous ups and downs coming into this world and going out, birth and death, are due to our karma, and the necessity of accepting the reaction to our actions. We can't escape from it. Once an action is done, either we face the reaction in this life itself or we may have to take another body to do it. It is the reaction that binds us to take it, the reaction that uses a body and makes us experience it." --Swami Satchidananda

There was an example of a true story of a blind man in India. He wanted to know what he did in his past life that caused him to be blind in his current life.

In his former life he was a priest in a temple. He stole the ghee (used for lighting the oil lamps) and gave it to a prositute to gain favors with her. This caused the temple to be always dim rather than bright.

So as a result, he lost his eyesight in his next life.

If you stole money from someone or a place earlier in your life, be prepared to pay it all back later on in your life or make an effort to donate a bit more than what you stole to pay off the karmic debt otherwise something of equal or greater value would be taken away from you unexpectedly in your life.

Not exactly baby. People get this wrong all the time.

In Buddhist teaching, the law of karma, says only this: `for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.'

A skillful event is one that is not accompanied by craving, resistance or delusions; an unskillful event is one that is accompanied by any one of those things. (Events are not skillful in themselves, but are so called only in virtue of the mental events that occur with them.)

It's not what goes around comes around, its more like the specific fruit that comes from a specific seed.

Been studying it since I was 13, and I tell you every effect has its cause, and every cause creates an effect.

I think eventually everything we do will come back to us in some way but maybe not as an equal "payback." For example, there may be something we do in our life that lingers with us throughout our lifetime. The thought of this may cause you a lot of pain over and over again. Maybe this is a type of karma.

I think there are different types of karma.

Karma means activity, whether u do good or bad both are comes under karma.

kartha who will do that

Karma the procedure

kriya is the result.

So kartha is has no value

the kriya is the result no value

the karma is the vital one it is nothing but paln to implimet

if u plan good, you will produce good. if u plan for bad u produce bad

that is whay a knife to cook and to do murder
nuke power, for power generation for scence development and for the comforts of the people.
nuke to destroy the people result is bad

if we belive or not the karma is a continues process.

In one ocation guru Ravi shankar ji explains
karma
indians belive karma, eathiests/ comunists will not belive karma.

he says though u are a communist u r doing karma
that is you will walk in one procudure according yor military rules
and u will do salute for ur flag, u will punish people according to
ur prepared laws these all are nothing but karms.

So it is a deffinetion for the plan/procedure/activity.

one belives or not it is existing one.

thank u

I did something bad once to a friend and then after a year, the same thing happened to me too. So yes, I do believe in karma.

Shooting someone will not alter the laws of physics so that bullets are now magically attracted to you.

Karma is wishful thinking. The world would be a better place if it were real. Unfortunately, it isn't.

I've always believed that when you do good you will recieve good but if you should do harm then harm should do you harm! If you cut someone down there is someone else who will be cutting you down! What you give sooner or later you will recieve the same!So always treat others as you want to be treated in return!

100%. Balance always occurs in the universe. If you are aware of it, you can what it in your life. See what happens to you after you think mean or act snitty toward someone else.... it'll happen to you right after from another person.

no, superstition. It's better to believe in the Golden Rule; do unto others what you would have done unto thyself.
