Christians are taught that they're born into sin, or born a filty rag or a born sinners. They are also taught that god will forgive them for ANYTHING they do. Atheists teach that it's important to be good because it's simply the right thing to do. Is that why the kkk, George W. Bush, Hitlier, black gang members, Mexican gang members are all Christians?

wow.....some people need a serious reality check here! Pretty much a few of these people are saying that you can murder people and and rob people, but if you're a christian you'll be forgiven and get into heaven....however, if you are an atheist who lives a great life and helps many people you will still go to hell. This makes absolutely no sense....I believe that if you are a bad person, no matter if you are christian or not, you are gonna BURN! And if you are a good person, no matter atheist or a person of faith, you are gonna go to heaven.
~by the way, i love how you added in George W. Bush with all the most evil people, hahaha~

Good insight. You're point is very logical. But dear friend, that is exactly the pretext of another religon, ie, Islam. In our religon, God says that every child is born innocent. It is their parents and the enviornment that is responsible for what they become. And rightly so. If we were to belive the argument that we are born sinners because adam and eve commited the orignal sin, then what can be more conflicting with genral reasoning. I mean, did Adam or Eve (may peace be upon them) ask me before eating the forbiddin fruit. NO!!. Then how can I be accountable for what they did. Why would I be born sinful. Hence GOD in many places in the Quran states that a man would be accountable for his own sins only. He wont be asked about the sins of his forefathers, and his forefathers wont be asked about his. All are individually accountable to GOD.

You may then say that Islam also brews so many terrorists. Well, that is why GOD says, one is born innocent. Its only the enviornment or someones bad influence which causes one to behave like a terrorist. Only one verse of the Quran is enough to answer your worries on Islam and terrorism. GOD says in the Quran, " He who kills one human, is like the one who killed the entire humanity". Note that GOD never used the word Muslim here, rather a human. Hope this answer gives you an alternate insight on Islam.

As regards to proof whether Quran is God's word, I can mail you some valuable and convincing material if you need it. You can mail me anytime. God Bless you.

I would much rather be a bad Christian standing before God, than the best atheist. How about this, if being good got you into Heaven, then how good would you have to be? If an atheist stands before God and says "Look at all the good that I accomplished!" how does that compare to the Good accomplished by God? I REALLY don't want to have to compare what I've done to what God has done, because even at my best, it still doesn't compare.

When is a atheist good, they are the ones bring up all this terrible nasty question on the board, if they are non believer, why should they care about any religion?

If a terrible evil sinner "believes in God' has a better chance in heaven then a nice person that "don't believe"

The bible.

Well, Christians are taught they have to strive to be good (like a child who's mom tells them "I don't love you unless you get As.")

And the Christian hate groups are hate groups because other people are different. How tolerent.

don't u think it is nice to start the new life with positive attitude?i never knew that Christians think that being born is sin,Christ was also born in this earth.even bible tells us to be good (that's what my christian friends say)no religion teaches us to be bad,it is the way how we interpret what has been written changes. the meaning.each & every religion teaches the same thing in different ways. to be good, to do good, to be kind ,to be helpful to others & to believe in almighty.

Christians do not say that God will forgive you for anything apart from GENUINE REPENTANCE AND FAITH IN CHRIST.

Many people may try to identify themselves as Christian, but are not.

An atheist may teach their child to be good, but the problem is , in order to be good ENOUGH to meet God's standard, you've got to be perfect.

I'm Christian and I don't feel that I was taught that I was born bad. I think I was born being loved. loved by God who loved us very much. So much he sacrificed his son to wash away our sins.

Since we are inheritantly "good" inside, it's shameful some fill children full of that 'original sin' bit. We create our tomorrows with our thoughts today. Someone thinking they are deserviing of good things to happen to them will get them. Someone thinking they are "sinful" and evil will bring "sinful and evil" events to their live with their thinking.
