He has ALOT of hair, wears it in a ponytail/fro, and gets it braided. We press it ocasionaly, not very much though. It is very dry and we are having trouble keeping it healthy looking and soft. We are not intrested in perms or any other chemical treatments. We thought that simple leave in treatments would help but, all the ones we have used haven't helped much. His hair is THICK and LONG and VERY CURLY! He dosn't want it to feel heavy but, we want it to be soft. whatever you guys think is a good idea please let me know!

Seriously, you don't want to press or perm or relax it! It will be beautiful soon. Try using a specialized shampoo for curly hair. Ouidad is great! They have alot of products made just for caring for curly hair! It is wonderful! And similarly, I think highly of V-05 Hairdressing in the tube, use it sparingly, just experiment. And V-05 Leave-In Conditioner. You can finger-comb it in or use a wide toothed comb or pick. This may get you started on the right path.

~go through and part his hair so you can put grease in it (blue magic) but since he has Mexican hair also don't put a lot in it. You could also put Pink Oil Moisturizer in it and that really helps. Once you do that, then just go through and brush it in really good so it can be evenly distributed throughout his hair. Believe me! After doing this about once a week, his hair will be thick and healthy and no more dryness!~
