Ok why is it that it is more socially acceptable to drink than it is to smoke?? I mean don't they both hurt everyone in the long run, there is 2nd hand smoke that causes cancer and lung disease and not to mention the bad smell that is involved with smoking and there is problems with people that are alcoholics and not to mention all the damaging affects that alcohol has on the liver and rest of the body. Also including all the drunk driving that has killed so many people. So why do we put up with one instead of none??

It's still funny that we will always say that drinking is OK and smoking is not, you want to know why we do that.......because we all drink on occasion and we would never want to lable ourselves as the "socially unaccetable" bunch that is the smoker lable.

it just happens to be the thing to abolish right now.... we did have prohibition years ago.... and yes alcohol really does destroy so many lives... but obviously there is more money being made and spent on it...and the outcry would be louder and stronger if the government tried to take it away again... as far as I'm concerned alcohol is worse... it causes accidents and deaths, breaks up families, changes peoples personalities, makes some people violent... etc...

Because that what a bar is. A place to go, have a drink, smoke a cigarette. Thats what its been for years, and now all these people are trying to ruin it. Yes, 2nd hand smoke can harm you. But NO WHERE NEAR WHAT THE ANTI-TOBACCO ADS DESCRIBE IT. You literally have to be sitting within inches of the end of the cig. inhaling the fumes to cause any sort of damage. Banning smoking in bars is a joke-I can't believe it has gotten to the point it has and I for one will never support the cause.

Too many people depend on smoking or drinking to fit in and be socially eccepted. It's sad but true. Nomatter what is said or done about either "party tool of choice", everyone is simply human and will change when they WANT to change. Not because they are forced.

i assume i'm the two. I smoke Embassy #a million and that i do drink yet very not often. I stay with a recuperating alcoholic so ingesting around him truly does not be honest. I probable drink 4, perchance 5 situations a year at maximum. when I do drink it truly is Jack Daniel's or white wine spritzers.

hey dear .. both r bad for health .. but smoking is much more injurious n more habbitual than drinking..
a man wont drink if he dont have much of cash .. but a cig can be purchased easily ..
social drinking i ok ..
but in one context drinking is more dangerous than smoking ... man losses control over him self after drinking .. he utters rubbish n may also comin crimes .. many rapes n murders r done after consuming alcohol ..
both r bad but social drinking( in limit) can be one descent option .. smoking must be avoided .. cause no one knows when u will be addicted !!!!!!!!!!

see sometimes, in certain professions drinking becomes an obligation, not doing so may come in way of ur getting ahead.. so mild social drinking should be allowed as long as it is in limits and platonic.. it has no passive effects.. but smoking does.. thats all i got to say..
