I came to this forum to get some real answers on the issues, and they have been hard to come by. It appears there are too many pretending to be something they are not, to discourage this question.
America is a wealthy nation because of the legal immigrants, and the hard working Americans that are here now. So would you please tell me how do we protect the rights of Americans, and legal immigrants from these criminals, without a civil war breaking out on our streets.
Please, no dreamers. Real solutions, I have put some out there, and I have been harassed for doing so, by many thall call themselves Americans, as well as by those that claim they are illegals.
And, since these people are so smart, I would like to hear their realistic, applicable solution to the problem, not rude, and insulting comments.

A few suggestions:

1) Dismantle the employment magnet. Heavily fine and/or jail employers that hire illegals.

2) Stop offering social services to illegals (free emergency medical care, welfare benefits, social security benefits, education, in-state college tuition).

3) Stop the crazy anchor baby practice.

4) Stop offering amnesty to people that are here illegally.

5) Do not offer any path to citizenship. Illegals must get in line and go through the process like everyone else. No special treatment.

6) Enforce the border. Use whatever technology is necessary to keep illegals out.

7) Develop a better system for verifying the status of an immigrant before he is hired.

8) Send illegals back to where they came when they are caught.

If we stop coddling illegals and make life here less attractive, most will self-deport.

I'm tired of hearing "well, most illegals are good people, work hard, BLAH,BLAH, BLAH." There are lots of good LEGAL immigrants and legitimate American citizens who work hard and whose resources are being stressed and lielihoods are being compromised by illegals who come to this country and have the nerve to start demanding rights.

Do some research and see how the Senate's amnesty bill will affect population, the environment, social services, the economy, social security, etc. It is not good.

I wish I had the knowledge and ability to intelligently answer your question.

My parents emigrated from Central Europe to the US in 1969. They fled from a communist country hoping for a better life, "the American Dream" in which to be married and raise their future children. They did it legally, they learned English (at times by watching Sesame Street, no kidding), my mother waitressed and was a seamstress, my father a struggling artist. They were contributors to society, never broke the law, and- assimilated.

For the types that come over and do not assimilate, and I mean for example, the illegals who form street gangs and are responsible for increased crime- this is just one aspect of the problem that increases in scope every day- it affects the lives of decent people who abide by the laws of this country- and is very much like a spreading cancer in our society.

The first logical place to look for the answer is at our system of operations here in the US. OUR SYSTEM HERE IS CORRUPT AND MALFUNCTIONING. Until the population comes together and figures out a way to have our government be FOR the people- not the people for whatever the government wants- (silly puppets with no rights?) then we are all standing not on a continent- but on a giant heap of quicksand.

Eliminate the reasons that cause immigrants to come to the US: better paying jobs.

I don't mean eliminate decent jobs, just crack down on employers who hire illegal immigrants. The latter usually work in the following areas, making it relatively easy to track them down:
1. Farm labor 2. Janitorial Services 3. Meat packing plants 4. Restaurants 5. Construction Sites

I have lost faith. We have spend billions fighthing a war againsts drugs. The same thing will and is happening with illegals. No matter how much money we spend they are going to find better ways to get here.

There will be no true "solution" because no matter what happens or what solution is decided upon, it will piss someone off. And thats what the US has become..... the land of the offended
