I have seen so many people ask question about Christianity. Many people who have answered these question always say, "They All...." or something along those lines. I am a Christian. I DON'T think I am better than anyone. I DON'T try to make anyone "go find God". I DON'T believe that one religion is the right one.

I have to agree with the movie, Dogma. Yes, I know it's a comedy. But think about it. The bible has been rewritten SOOOOO many times, that who's to say what is exactly correct in it? PEOPLE wrote it. Who's to say they didn't put their own spin on it? God himself DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE. JESUS DID NOT WRITE THE BIBLE. Man did.

Ever notice how when you hear a comment or something how down the chain of people it changes a bit. Then the original message becomes something totally different than how it began.

Yes, I believe in God. Yes, I believe in Jesus. So don't lump us all in with the nutcases that think they are superior to all others.

First of all, DON'T ever tell me that I am not who I say I am. I do believe in God. He gave us all free will. That includes questioning certain things. Everyone here has the right to say what they want. But don't tell me I don't really believe. MY QUESTION WAS WHY DO ALL CHRISTIAN GET PUT INTO ONE GROUP? Someone answered that by saying that it is just how people are. We lump everyone into groups, to keep them in little boxes.

Everyone hates to be stereotyped but everyone here is doing that. So far a good portion of you people who have answered seem to be nothing but finatics. I do believ in God. I know He loves me, and I love Him. So to the rest of you who think that I don't, God will judge you and how YOUR acting in the end. Remember that.

That is a very intelligent rant there. Good for you. And, thank you for being the christian you are.

Now, for all the laughable responses you got.
The bible is not historically accurate. It has been PROVEN many biblical stories were in fact translations of ancient roman, african, and greek stories. NOT the word of god. Also, nothing in the bible is able to be verified. Therefore it cannot be classified as anything but Fiction.

As for God having the power to make sure his words were conveyed correctly. That is also highly incorrect. It has been discovered much of the bible was not even close to interpreted correctly from it's original form. It has many completely made up parts and was written by christians with alterior motives and an agenda.

Well then the god that you believe in is NOT the God of the Holy Bible. There is only ONE way to Heaven! That is through the Lord Jesus Christ! There is NO OTHER WAY. ALL true Christians know that. The Bible may have been "written" by man...but it was inspiried by the Holy Spirit, & it is "protected" by God! Jesus Christ IS the Holy Word..(*see John 1:1) If you do a little "homework" you might discover that God's Word is "unchanging" even throughout the ages..though there is always & has always been a way to get satan's take on the Word...but God Himself says if you SEEK ME WITH ALL YOUR HEART you shall FIND ME. (Deut. 4:29) That means God is either lying (and the Word says God cannot lie) or the Scriptures are truth...you should spend some time reading what you profess to believe. (God's Word is not a chain letter)

Interesting. You don't seem to realize that if the Bible was written by men rather than by god, then there is the distinct possibility it contains no truth about gods whatsoever.

That being the case, what is your justification for believing in god, or in Jesus? And if you do believe in these things IN SPITE of your own admission that the Bible can not be trusted, then are you not implicitly making a claim to know the unknowable?

Could such a claim NOT only be legitimate if you knew you were inherently gifted with discerning truth without knowledge, a skill that others do not share?

Yes the Bible was written by man, but it was inspired by God. Meaning the God knew what he wanted in it and put it there. The bible is the most accurately historical book out of any book in history. If you believe in God, but yet question the validety of the Bible, aren't you questioning the existance of God? I am also a Christian and I know I'm not better than anyone else.

Don't belittle God's Holy Scriptures and turn around and call yourself a Christian. The Holy Bible is God's word given to us by His inspired hand through His CHOSEN people. You don't believe that one religion is the right one, yet you say you're a Christian? Satan believes in God and Jesus also. Be careful.

I also have a problem with the not so glittering generalities some people make about Christians on here. But I disagree with you, I think that God is powerful enough to handle making sure His word was kept correctly. I think the authors definitely put their spin on it. But I think God still shines through, and I don't think He would allow something to be written in His word that was completely false.

Because some of the largest branches of Christianity :coughCatholicscough: have built up a reputation through out the years of having the "I am better than you attitude". And since most people just like to save time and not form their own opinions they use the generic stereotypical one that is presented to them.

because radical christian fundamentalists are usually the most vocal... they have all the christian tv networks and are involved in politics and make sure everyone can hear them preach. i know it doesn't mean that all christians are like that, but people usually take what they see on tv to be the standard of what all christians are like.

Anyway, I put all evangelical BornAgain® Christians© and JesusFreaks™ into one pot, and this is because they are all the same and it's a fact. It would be good to throw them to lions for fun & amusement.
