God "did not create the earth simply for nothing" but "formed it even to be inhabited". - Isaiah 45:18

"The righteous themselves will posses the earth, and they will live forever upon it." -Psalm 37:29

When the Bible speaks of "the earth," it sometimes is referring to the people who live on the earth. The Bible does tell about the end of wickedness on earth. Which would include wicked people. Revelation 16:14-16

The earth will last forever as will righteous people. The Bible gives us the hope of living forever as perfect people under God's Government, God's kingdom. Ruled by Jesus Christ.
Matthew 6:9,10

1 John 2:17 says: "the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever".

Not the end of the "earth," but the end of the ungodly.
