The rain amplifies all sounds. Dog's ears are sensitive to loud sounds. My mom's dog won't pee in the grass in the rain either. She asked her vet & that's what he told her. I've read that in a few articles too.

My puppy won't urinate in the grass after it has rained or snowed either. I don't know what the reason is...maybe he thinks since the ground is wet, that spotted has already been 'used' (lol).

some dogs don't like wet grass...

and some dogs have just had bad experiences somewhere down the line...or think they have....

dogs are like people and they can have some types of phobias for no apparnet reason
