You should take your medicine. Tell the nurse what you've taken and why... they will know the effects of the pills and how it will show in your blood--- also, if the pills have been in your life for a while then maybe it's the reaction to the pills that they are looking for in your blood? don't know why you have the blood test- just a thought,

What did your physician tell you to do? If your physician said it mattered, then you would have to stop until after the blood draw. If your physician said it did not matter or alter the results, then take your med's. Since you say "pills" one would have to assume that the throat problem might be an infection of some sort? Is the blood test to determine a correct diagnosis of the throat ailment? Best bet, call a 24hr drug store and speak with the pharmacist on duty, if you can't reach your own Dr. for advice.

Yes, take the pills tonight, but wait to take your morning dose (if you have one) until after the blood is drawn if your medicine may upset your stomach without food. If you can take this pill on an empty stomach, go ahead.

You should have asked your doc before you started your fast. Call the on call nurse if you have access to one. Ask him (or) her.
