If you have read it, why do SOME of you feel the need to pressure non-Christians? Plant the seed only. Let go and Let God. Remember, my brothers and sisters, if they don't listen, leave them in Peace. Find another village. Peace and Love

They also seem to forget the whole 'wipe the dust off your sandals' thing.

Geeze, if you're not even going to pay attention to your stupid book, why the hell should I even consider it!?

I believe most Christians do know the Parable of the Sower.
But the biggest problem with the Church today is not that we're too "pushy" with the Gospel, it's that we're too complacent. We should be sharing more, not less. We have the priceless truth, that God came to save lost sinners, like all of us were. How can we keep it to ourselves? So we have a responsibility to let others know the truth. We should never try to "make" them believe, because a forced conversion is no conversion at all. But we have a responsibility to let the truth be known.

I read all of the parables many times. Have you read this passage?

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

or this passage?

1 Corinthians 3:6 I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. 7 So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. 8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

Obviously there is a need for sowers of the word, as well as others to "water" what has been planted, n'est pas?

Jude 1:23 snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
How about OT...Isaiah 47:14 Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power of the flame. WE are called to continue to reach out to those that cannot see the fact that they are in desperate need of a Savior! If the Lord has put it upon your heart to continue to attempt to reach a lost soul...then listen to the Savior..& keep on reachin!

I agree. Many times we place divinity on our shoulders. We believe our words can force a conversion. But it is a prideful gesture. God will is done when we love Him and do His will and when led to explain the Good News then explain it. Love does not force itself on someone. Love presents itself as a gift to be received. Just as our gift of salvation was not forced on us.

And as a Catholic it is almost requisite in this situation to reiterate the quote:
Preach the Gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.

One does not plant seeds among weeds. If you want that seed to grow, you first pull up the weeds and cultivate the soil.

It is the same with society. If you want these seeds of goodness to grow, you first must confront, shame or sometimes destroy evil people and ideologies.

I think there is a church somewhere that claims one can get out of purgatory by how many others you bring to the lord. Its quite anti-Christ because, as you imply we are not God, we are only the growees.

Agreed. Plant the seed. But it won't hurt to water and keep the
weeds out(prayer and love).

I can only speak for myself,I do not believe in trying to force anyone to believe as I do. I tell the truth about the sacrifice Jesus made for us that we can be reconciled to God: If they choose to accept God good,if they don't it is their free choice.
