After braces for 2 weeks my front teeth don't have a gap?
or am i imagining things?
and if it is true-why do i have to have my braces on for a whole year?

Yes it's possible but they haven't set it takes up to a year for that do be semi-permanent. Plus if your a woman sometimes during pregnancy they may turn back to the way they were before.

No, it can really happen. You have to wear them so your teeth permanently set in place. Your teeth had gaps for years, if they were to remove your braces now, your gap would be back in two weeks.

It may be possible tha the teeth have re-aligned in that length of time but if you took the braces off now, they wouldn't stay put. The length of time is necessary to "build a support structure" for the new position in your mouth

I think it's possible, but you have to keep them on for a long time for two reasons:
1. Your bones have to 'grow' them into place, so they stay
2. The dentist wouldn't make nearly as much $ if he only charged you for two weeks of braces.
