My son has used Switched on Schoolhouse by Alpha Omega since 3rd grade. He is now starting 5th grade. We love SOS. And I will be using it with my younger two girls. There are a lot of options. You can do as little or as many projects that you choose. There is a calender you set up to assign lessons or you can not use the calender and go at your own pace. Web sites in lesson if you choose. Games to help learn spelling words. The computer program grades most of the work. Each year they upgrade the program but all years have been great.

I have not used it personally, but I have heard that Switched-On Schoolhouse is a good CD-Rom program.

Hope this helps!

Ditto SuzieQ92 - I haven't used it, but SOS is the only computer based homeschool program I know of.
