Can anyone tell me who is Ellen Goulds White?

Ellen G. White is NOT a prophet nor does she claim to be. She is a messenger of GOD. I am SDA and believe in her writings. Her writings, everything that I have read thus far, when compared to the Bible are right on. She has not diverted from the Holy Bible so I find her writing acceptable.

Ellen Gould White (n̩e Harmon) (November 26, 1827 РJuly 16, 1915) was a prolific writer and a founding member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Most of her life she lived and worked in the United States, except for the period of 1885-1887 in Europe and 1890-1900 in Australia.

With the sole exception of Agatha Christie, Ellen White is said to be the most translated female writer in the history of literature and the most translated American author of either gender.[1] Her writings covered topics of theology, evangelism, Christian lifestyle, education and health (she also advocated vegetarianism). She was a leader who emphasized education and health and promoted establishment of schools and medical centers.

During her lifetime she wrote more than 5,000 periodical articles and 40 books; but today, including compilations from her 50,000 pages of manuscript, more than 100 titles are available in English. Among her works is the popular Christian book, Steps to Christ.

Seventh-day Adventists believe her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth which provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction.

Several of her homes are historic sites. The first home that she and her husband owned is now part of the Historic Adventist Village in Battle Creek, Michigan.[2] Her other homes are privately owned with the exception of her home in Cooranbong, Australia, which she named "Sunnyside," and her last home in Saint Helena, California, which she named "Elmshaven"[3]. These latter two homes are owned by the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the "Elmshaven" home is also a National Historic Landmark.

ok i will detail to why she is a false prophet........a false prophecy was made by the sda cult i think ellen g white made the prophecy...that the world would end like a couple decades back....so all the sda went and waited on a hill for the end. then they all walked home when nothing happened looking dumb.

She was one of the founders of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1867.

She experienced many visions dreams in line with biblical principles.This Church regards her as a prophet of God, even though she had never declared to be one instead described her inspired writings as those of a "Lesser Light" (compared to the Word of God - the "Greater Light." She had written over 50 books even though imbued with a 3rd grade level of education.

Some quarters in ignorance have labelled her as a plagiarist even though almost 90% of her writings were devoid of other people's writings and quotes!!

I personally am of the opinion that Ellen White was special - unlike any to be inspired as she does comply to over 10 bible definitions of a true prophet!!

One needs to do a thorough study of her writings and life she led to arrive at any worthy conclusions!
