I have been on several internet single sites for finding matches. But all I seem to get are "Flirt", "Hug" and nothing much in the way of a message or conversation.

here's what...as a product of online dating (yahoo messenger, no less) and long-distance relationship myself, there's never a guarantee as to who you're going to meet through on-line dating sites. i'm not much of a risk-taker but i went head on against the better judgment of people around me. i would say i lucked out that i didn't end up hurt or even dead. my husband turned out to be a very nice, lovable guy but i won't put him in the soulmate category. besides, when you say soulmate, that doesn't necessarily mean the person you're going to marry. i used to think of soulmates along the same line but i read a book that said it's a mistake to always think about soulmates on a romantic level. a soulmate literally means your soul's mate or your soul's twin. apart from the romantic conotation that has been beaten into our heads by movies and romance novels, a soulmate can be your sibling, your co-worker, your friend, your parent, etc.

i'm not being a killjoy or anything. i don't and i won't recommend online dating since i've been there. there's something comforting AND crazy about distance and about not being seen by the other person all the time. that's what's not safe and that's the flaw of dating sites that predators out there take advantage of. there may be webcams, profiles, etc. but you'll never know the person until you are with him/her.

The odds of finding someone in your immedient area are not good unless you use dating services in your local area. The best way to meet someone you like online would be to meet someone with simular interest, someone with an updated picture to measure your attraction to them (yes it's important to a degree if you don't want to be disapointed), someone with simular beliefs (You don't want to end up meeting someone who is anti-christian for example which can happen), and in your immediate area. After you meet someone send no more than three emails before asking for his number. If he will not then he may only be intrested in a "fun-internet relationship". If that is the case MOVE ON.

If you are having trouble meeting people in you life it is best to get out there, and meet people in places like clubs, charities, organizations, or even hanging at a cafe. Don't be afraid to take the first step ;-)

I think it's possible to find someone great for you, online. Maybe check out some different dating sites. Hang in there and just have fun while you're looking for the right one.

Lol, the chances are slim to none. Like a chatroom, those things are FULL of "bots" that message you to get you to go to a porno-site. I have found very few people using the online dating thing, and was better off not looking, someone eventually kinda just fell into my lap. You proboly are better off doing the same.

I used to use the internet to find guys, and have found some great guys doing so. Try putting more content in your profile that will lure them in, such as brains, dreams, desires, sensitivity, but also be direct in what you want out of a relationship...

Well, the chances are just as high as in real person. But , the advantage of face to face encounters, is you know if you like the way they look. Love is what love does, so that being said, good luck either way you choose to date...
