Funny story for any cat-lovers or people who are very knowledgable when it comes to felines. I was sitting in front of my couch today (note: not on it, in front of it) with my laptop on my lap. My male cat, Simba was sitting on the couch. So I started playing a song on my laptop ("I Need You" by The Swift) and I started singing along to the song. Simba just goes crazy!! He's moewing his head off, bugging me, jumping over me. I kept singing because Simba is a very weird cat in general. But twice he was on the couch and walked up to me, since my shoulder was pretty level with the couch. He comes and put his paw on my shoulder and practically blows my ear drum out and scares the crud out of me with the loudest meow EVER and his mouth open to it's full extent, I'm sure! He also starts acting funny when I start whisting. Has this happened to any of you guys before? Why is he acting like this? He's kind of freaking me out! (He's about a year and a half old and a total sanguine!)

Okay cats are like dogs, they have very sensitive ears and great hearing.. When you were singing maybe ( not to be rude) he didn't like the noise so he chimed in to drown you out.. Same thing with the whistling.. One of my cats hates car head lights.. When a car drives by my apartment, and casts a shadow on the walls, she meows and actually growls like a dog, and jumps at the wall!!! As far as the screaming in your ear, he probably wants attention.. I bet you were reading or watching t.v. huh? Next time he does it pick him up and start petting him, guaranteed that's what he wants.. Consider yourself lucky, my baby cat Bella, won't even let me use my computer.. Soon as I turn it on, she comes running over and dances on the keyboard!! Meows at me, tries to chase the arrow on the screen the mouse makes when you move it, it's horrible!!! I have to lock her out of my bedroom just to go online.. One time I left the computer on by accident and she wiped out my Windows 2000, I guess she just kept dancing on the delete button.. Swear to God!!!

i haven't had that specific situation happen.. but i have had a cat that particularly enjoyed certain bands above others.. and when we played something he liked he would run around the room in circles (jumping from furniture to furniture) while meowing... and if we played something he clearly did not like he would turn it off for us..

cat's are funny.
