Yes i know that i came from mexico and i think that my life should not be a particular interest to you. Anyways i will tell you why i came to the u.s., I came to the u.s. for a better life. I was not starving to death in mexico. I know who I'm and i'm proud of it and I'm not trying to hide it. The thing that i'm trying to say is that if mexico was a better place not many people will have to immigrate to the u.s. illegally.

Forget all that I said above. I was reading your answer fast and I misunderstood you, I apologize for that. Anyways I would like to say that I agree with you, people cross the border illegally because they have to, and because they don't want to leave their families in poverty.

Actually, I just moved from Mexico after living there for 4 years. I loved every minute of it. The ONLY reason I moved was to experience more of the world. Mexico is not a bad place...if you haven't been there don't knock it. I loved the people - they are warm and caring. I love the culture - it is very family oriented. Family is first above all else.
The reason that many migrate to the US is that they know there are opportunities in the US for them. They will get jobs and send most of their money to their families in Mexico - how many American's would do that?
The other reason is the opportunity...how many of those that write in on these forums are willing to clean bathrooms, clean floors and do the bad jobs? How many are willing to stand in the hot sun and pick tomatoes...for a couple of bucks a day? Not to many...that's why the Mexican's come to the US - to do the crap jobs no one else will do.
Mexico has come a long way to help their people. One thing they do is not let an American or Candian hold a job a Mexican can hold. Mexico protects their people. How does the US protect their's?
Unless you've been there you don't know. Because you read that Cuba is a bad place no one should ever go - does this make it true? Just like what is said about Mexico, the answer is No.
Mexico does help their people much more than the US helps theirs. If a Mexican doesn't work - they don't eat. So...Mexican's work. Do American's? Nope. We have all kinds of aid for the unemployed. That's a weak government.
Mexico allows all people to get good medical care but excellent doctors. Does the US? Nope. You pay first in the US or don't get helped.
Before knocking any government - be sure you know that what you read in the paper and hear on the news is correct. Cuba is a BEAUTIFUL place to visit and Mexico is a wonderful place to live and learn family values.
I am in no way saying the US is bad. I am simply saying not to believe all you read unless you've lived it as well. I used to think that Mexico was a horrible place...until I lived there and had the experience of a lifetime.
There are many paradises on earth...and not all are in the United States. Find them, experience them and learn from them.

Yes, you are absolutely right.
And to those who think government can't change the country, STOP complaining about the US government!!!! How can someone be so blind as to blame the US President for everything, and then give the Mexican government a pass on their corruption?
Of course, only the government can make the needed changes, unless you vote for revolution. I think the Mexican government should start making the changes now. It will take many years to make significant improvement, but even the longest journey begins with a single step.

Sure, and what should the Mexican people do until the situation changes? Starve to death? Common, you know you would've crossed some border too, if you HAD TO. Or you'd leave your family in poverty?
Whan you are hungry, you don't care about some border. Your ancestors didn't, why should the Mexicans?

That's what I'm rooting for. My husband is from Mexico and he, in Mexico, had to quit school in 5th grade and go to work to support his sick mother and 2 little sisters. His dad was/is a stupid drunk, abusive, always cheated on his mom, lied, and, like most of his dad's side of the family, was into Santaria (a Mexican form of Voodoo). An all around bad guy. There are hundreds of ways that our country would help a family like his, however, there is nothing to help them in Mexico. The same for many other latino and non-latino countries. Who can change this? Anobody? Nobody? Everybody? Who's going to help them? How can they do it? Not EVERYONE from other countries are victims of corruptness, but many many many many ARE. If we were in their condition, what would we do? The leaders of these governments don't seem to care, they just want to cash their big checks and be one of the only ones there not suffering from their own selfishness and stupidity. I feel for these poor neglected peoplel

Yes but that is not going to happen any time soon. The people will have to revolt. But these people are so beaten down by such an oppressive government, they don't have the will to do it.
Something about the Mexican culture most Americans don't really understand is that these people really don't make waves. They are very passive in many ways. They want to keep peace and its a great cost to them, they really are afraid to revolt.
In this country, we have been brought up with human rights, its a central part of our culture, but Mexicans, from Mexico of course, don't have this in their culture, I mean they surely understand it, but its not something that is ingrained in them as it is with us.

That would be nice if the mexican government would be better to their people. I don't think there should be a border rule if a person has to travel to feed and care for their family they should be able to. See what you think of no borders at the website below.

Not just Mexico. All Latin America should be working together to make it a better place for us all. Do you think we really want to leave tropical paradises to be around a bunch of xenophobes in the USA?

The Mexican government should care about its people, but it appears they don't. The need to improve the economic structure of its government and provide a working wage for their people and stop giving them maps to the USA.
