ok i posted this question before but nobody really helped me:-(

ok what do i do. i really like this guy. he knows exactly how to make me laugh, smile, and feel good about myself. but the only problem is that he is about 1 and a half years younger then me. should i just go out with him n not pay attention about what people think. or should we just stay friends n not risk getting laughed at?

If you go through life always making choices for what's best for you in life based on what others around you think is best then you're never going to live your own life. 1-1/2 years is no significant age difference as long of you are mature enough and old enough by parents' standards for dating. If this guy makes you feel as special as you say he does then why would you let the ignorance of others keep you from your own happiness?

Anyone that would laugh at you for something so petty as a guy being a little younger is not worth caring about anyway. Do what makes you happy, don't worry about what other people think. I think that you should go for it, and go out with this guy if he's interested.

First of all i think that a year and a half younger is not bad at all. my lady is two years younger than me. But you have to think to yourself, if you like this guy, why does it really matter what other people think. there are so many guys in this world and practically none that truly appreciate a girl to their full extent. so if this one really makes you happy, then don't let him disappear over something as meaningless as a year and a half difference.

I'm sorry if the others were not able to view your question - as you can see, questions get piled up one on top of the other. My mom is two years older than my dad, and he even seemed more mature than she is. Look at Demi Moore, she's definitely years older than her guy and it doesn't matter. As with extrinsic matters like age, race, location, etc., these are not primordial in a relationship. What matters is your true love for each other. So I say, go for it girl! And good luck! :)

If the age does not bother you, it is a small number, why should you care what others think. Once they get to know him, like you do, will they care about his age, no. I say go for it, why lose out on a chance at happiness just because others have a problem with it.

a year and a half you think or more so your friends think that is too big of a difference? thats just silly love knows no age. The main thing is you both complete each other and your happy. you should never worry about what others think or you will never find your happiness. Do you think any of these people care if you do find happiness?
follow your heart and it will guide you.

Do you really care if people laugh at you? Or your happiness? At my age, a younger guy interested in me? I am all over it. So forget what people think and do what you want.

if you really like this guy, i think that you should go for it. if the chemistry between you two is real, then you won't care about what other people say. but .. if critique from your peers is something that is hard for you, maybe you two could wait it out. that would be really hard ... but if you really REALLY do like the guy, and if i were you, i would just go out with him right now.

bottom line - if you think that people laughing at you and the guy is going to make your relationship NOT work, don't go out with him. if you truly like him & really think that he's worth it, go out with him.

I think that if you really like him then you should go out with him. I once went out with a guy and he was about a year and a half younger. He was very fun to hang out with. I totally think you should go out with that guy if you really like him.
