Friends and Church are 2 different things. You pick a church by what feeds you spiritually... you pick friends by who feeds you emotionally.

A funny issue.
I had a church where we lived and we made such good friends to walk with in our journey. I was inspired all the time.
We then moved, and picked a church and I am still not comfy a year and a half later. But maybe I have something to offer there, so I feel like God pointed me in this direction, so I stay.
But if you are finding it hard to connect with God, then I think you should do whatever you think will help. And if that is changing churches, I think it is OK.

You are not in church because of friends,
You go to church for the Lord,
then after church find some friends,
If the friendship is the only thing that changed about the church, then stay there, new people will join I hope and you can make knew friends.

There are several reasons why people attend church. For some people the doctrine is important, for others the worship style is key, and yes, fellowship with friends is another part of the experience. You need to assess which aspects of going to church are important to you before you can make a decision. It would be helpful if you could talk this over with someone you trust, such as a pastor, priest, leader, teacher, or one of your friends.

Matt, Matt, Matt.....Church is about worshipping the Lord and learning about Jesus, not a popularity contest or a place where friends "hang out".
If you are truly uncomfortable attending the church why not visit several others until you find one that you like.
Good luck and God Bless

Your decision should be based on the church, not your friends leaving. Are you being spiritually fed there? Think about what it is that you believe about God, and ask yourself if you believe what the church is telling you. If not, find one that re-enforces your beliefs.

Join the program that the church has to offer. I am sure the church has some ministries to offer, such as mission and evangelism, greeters and ushers, praying ministry, bible study group, church library, church maintenance, groundskeeper, etc.

Sure, you could either find a different religion or just a different parish. All are different. I didn't like going to church as much untill we moved and now I go to a different one that I love very much and it has helped increase my faith and love. :)

Yes. You don't want this to cause you to stray from God. Try different churches to see which one makes you feel at home. If you tell the pastor, he will understand.

Maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you something you should listen to, rather than simply trying to ignore by switching churches.
Sounds to me like you are having doubts, and you owe it to yourself to determine whether or not your faith is true, rather than claiming to believe out of fear?
