The first thing you will have to take at look at is what you eat that causes you to put on the pounds. You will have to chose foods that are low in carbs and sugar. Fruits and vegetables are the first choice that will cause pounds to drop off along with drinking water, tea, and coffee (unsweetened of course). Lemon is good to add to tea and drink lemonade. If you have a juicer, you can make a meal just by drinking the juice from vegetables. Ex. One or two apples, three or four carrots, three or four stalks of celery, and a cucumber makes a great drink. You will have to make up your mind to avoid soda, candy, cookies, cakes, and other great treats that are loaded with sugar. Good luck in changing your diet to meet your goal.

You NEVER will have to buy any equipment. Here are my suggestions.

1. You can jump "imaginary" rope. You can swing your arms just like you have a jump rope in hand and jump when your arms come down just as if the rope were there.

2. Please take out any canned veggies, sauces, etc. that you currently have in your cabinets. You can use these as "weights". If you have an extra large can of something - that's all the better. Carry about the cans with you when you exercise, dance, or jump "imaginary" rope. You'll be surprised. When you first start with the cans, they will seem heavy, but after a few weeks of using them as weights, you'll be able to hold them longer, and even to up them to different size cans. You'll find that you'll be stronger and you'll be defining your arms, etc.

Have a lovely rest of the evening.

I'd suggest a dvd. There are so many you can get online now, and they're excellent! It just depends on what you like to do, tae bo, kickboxing, aerobics, you can find it all and do it at home.
This is how I started all those years ago! I was overweight and determined, got some videos to do at home and now I am a fitness director/trainer/instructor. Find one that you like and you'll look forward to doing it, have fun most of all!

Workout videos - dance, aerobics, taebo, etc. Also there are lots of other exercises you can do like lunges, jumping jacks, calf raises, etc. Or jumping rope - that will wear you out! You can get cheap hand weights at Target. Run up and down the stairs if you have them.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
