usually toddler is the term used when a child starts to walk ie toddling

There are different age toddlers.
0-18 mo. are toddlers
1 1/2 yr old - 2 1/2 yr old are pre-toddlers
2 1/2 yr old - 4 yr old are toddlers

Most states have a chart- birth -18 months is Infants, Toddlers, are 18-36 months and older are classified as preschoolers. In a day care setting, they may move into the pre-Kindergarten room after potty training is finished.

It is not an age but a developmental phase. Toddle is a description of a walking style

a toddler toddles. Normally because they aren't toilet trained and the nappies make them walk funny.

They also have bowed legs with lots of fat on them and very little solid bone in their legs and knees.

Around 18 - 24 months you will see the fat drop of their thights and belly, their legs will be noticebly straighter and they will start to walk with a more adult gait. This is when then stop being toddlers.

they are toddlers from 1 to 3 and then from 4 to I think 5 or 6 they are preschoolers. I know I was sad on my sons first birthday because he wasn't a baby anymore!!!!!!

I would say a 1 year old if they have started to walk and then I would include 2 and 3 year olds.

I do not believe that there is an exact age. I would think that a toddler is a child that is toddling. That age can vary but normally it is consider to be around the age of one year.
