How does the average US Army Infantry soldier compare to their counterparts around the world? Aside from support vehicles, leadership, and all but the most basic technology , pound for pound, hand to hand, are they the best infantry out there?

the best infantry out there is the one we don't know anything about...we can't understimate anybody, so everytime our infanrty goes out there they gotta think they are going up against the best, so they can be prepared and claim thier place as the best...
ARMY, MARINES, AIR FORCE, NAVY......we are all fighting under the same GOD and the same FLAG...

probably the top the Green Beret is extraordinary and if you allow the Navy Seals to be on the list no doubt the best

we are an all volunteer force and we are capitalist so yes our well fed ,well educated,and ca$h hungry 11bravos are the best!! conscripts will NEVER be as good as all volunteer-MINUTEMEN VS REDCOATS is prime example-right now its 70k for college bounus -thats a hell of a motivator

the Israelis have the best man for man military in the world...but for fire power and technology, there is no beating the USA.

depends what branch....the Brits have well trained men and women as well but being an american i wanna say ours are the best.
