You are a compassionate and sensitive person who views the troubles of the world with concern for the future well-being of planet and people. It is true that there are many alarming things happening--all you have to do is watch the news to get discouraged and fearful. Remember though, that TV and newspapers have to keep reporting what sells and that would be news that is bad. At the same time, there are good things happening, too. People are discovering cures, working on problems, trying to build peace, working for justice, helping the less fortunate. These stories don't make the news. I bet you have done something kind for someone else this week and it didn't get reported anywhere--just think of all the many acts of kindess done daily that are never mentioned. Yes, there is a lot of bad new out there, but try to balance that with a mental image of all the good that is quietly happening all around us.

Mankind is made of two words .. man and kind. Why? Is the root man or is it kind? Are these words related? Who knows really? All we know for sure are these things:
we have been on this earth a great number of years.
we have struggled to get to where we are.
we are uncertain as to where we are going.
we are not sure whether or not we should proclaim our faith to Christ/Bhudda/Yawheh/Mohammed/etc.
we are certain that we are good people by anybody's standard and we shall reach heaven, nirvana, or the greater unknown as long as we are good to our fellow human beings, our family, and our God (whoever He or She may be)
we are worried that we may be worshipping a false god.
we are sure we will find out someday.
All I know for sure is that I am struggling each day to balance my selfishness and my generosity, my ignorance and my open-mindeness ... we are all the same, no?

it is truly sad to think of mankinds fate especially if they did not believe in the lord and lived the worldly life here on earth... the road to heaven is narrow the way and the road to hell is wide...there is so much evil in this world today.. and people think that they can do as they please as long as they are happy or think they are having a good time..people are blind... a person is blessed if they know the lord and read the bible and believe because they will have their reward... we are all going to be held accountable for our deeds here on earth.. and if we do not believe in the lord jesus christ and that he died for our sins it is a terrible fate for them... i am not judge , i just know what i read in the bible.. it is there for anyone that wants to seek the lord...

Because you're pessimistic. Mankind goes through ups and downs, but we always come through when it's most important. Plus, you're ignoring the millions of random acts of kindess - both big and small - that are performed by people every day.

If you think you're sad, imagine how God must feel. That's if you believe in a superior being that rules over mankind.

you are human. that may have something to do with it. but just what is humanity's fate? if our fate is to never really shed the childish need of religion, then yes, i feel the same way. its like a 40 year old man who truly believes in Santa.

maybe u r depressed. Remember, u only control yourself, no one else. If u trust in God, then ur fate is something to be thankful for. If not, your fate is sad indeed.

I get the same feeling. Sometimes it even makes me cry. The thought of the world going on after I am gone is very scary. I think it is just a part of life that you have to learn not to think about.
