HELLO...I too have naturally curly curly hair and it is highlighted....
What I do is either use a hot oil treatment.... take the treatment and pour into a bowl and warm in the microwave for just 15 seconds...caution make sure it isnt too hot....or there is this oil called placenta oil,I believe it may be for african-american hair, but anyone can use it....it works the same way... put plenty on your head and wrap in towl(to keep the heat in and let it soak)leave in for 20 mins ...the longer the better....and rinse...
or...you can put a good conditioner and wrape your head in a towl and leave on for about 30 mins....
when looking for a conditioner...the thicker, the better...usuallly cheaper ones such as white rain, rave, suave, etc are thin and do not work as well...
Also, I do not use a hair dryer,my hair gets real big...so..I suggest not using one...and I straighten my hair maybe once a month or every other month...this isnt good either...
Do not wash your hair everyday!!This drys it out...if you feel dirty not washing it daily....wash it on day one....day 2. wash it in JUST CONDITIONER...day 3 ..just conditioner.... day 4...wash it..
Try this for one week..it really helps...
Good luck..

You have over processed hair. Deep condition. You need some Super Charge conditioner by Paul Mitchell. If your salon does not carry this go to a beauty supply store such as Sally's, they usually carry a generic Paul Mitchell line. Shampoo and apply conditioner heavy, comb thru with a wide tooth comb, wrap with a hot wet towel, leave up for 10 minutes. I would do this daily for the next 3 days then every 3 days after. Do not brush your hair when it is wet, use a pick, start at the ends and work your way up, once your hair is dry you can use a brush, but I suggest a vent brush only.

Stop using a curling and straightnening iron..it destroys your hair. Let your hair do what it wants to do naturally and use a good shampoo and conditioner.

don't use store bought color anymore. it contains metallic dyes that have salt and metals in them which damage your hair. go to a sally's or any professional beauty supply store and buy the haircolor there.
there's also a product at sally's by l'oreal to fix damaged hair. it's called "Ineral hair repair kit". i've used it on my fried bleached-too-many-times hair. and it worked wonders
