They also make waterproof cases that you can put over cameras that are not water proof.

Yes! I have one and I know several people that own them. Two companies that make then are Sea & Sea and Sealife. You can find them at your local scuba diving shop on www.scuba.com Plan to pay $600 and up! they aren't cheap.

You can at least get a case that you can put specific cameras in. Go to a store that specializes in photographic equipment, they will have one. They are very pricey, though. :(

Olympus make one that is waterproof t 3 metres - as much as anyone who is not diving needs.

Yes. I think Nikon makes one. A little expensive.
