When I was 18-20 years old I messed up my credit. Now, I have been turned down for two jobs because of it. I have begun to work on my credit now but it's aggrivating that employers check your credit. In my case things I did 6 years ago are prohibiting me from getting a good job! I'm aggrivated! Thank you for allowing me to vent, this is not really a question but if you'd like to offer some advice that would be great!

A tough lesson from the School of Hard Knocks.
Hopefully, others will learn from your mistake.
Also know that the sooner you begin to make good payments on your credit lines and the longer you continue those good payments, the better your score gets.
You should get a copy of your credit bureau report and go through it with a fine tooth comb just to make sure there are no errors that may be costing your points on your score.
If you can improve your score even 10% that's good.
Also, if you had any bankruptcys 6 years ago, you just need to hold on one more year. In most cases, they come off after 7 years.

Well, if these things are 6 years old, they should drop off your credit report in one year.

As long as you see that your character is supposed to be an extension of your credit, then you have learned that there is no room to play around with your future -- even at age 18-20.

You are blessed because you have learned the lesson and do not want to repeat that pattern of behavior that is preventing you from getting good jobs.

Is there ever a time in the interview process that you could explain to the interviewer about your credit? Just explain like you did here, that you realize what you did was stupid and you're working hard to fix it. Have proof. Show them your payment history (make sure it's good), maybe work a couple of jobs so you can pay it down faster. If someone sees that you really do want to make your credit better they may be more willing to hire you. Just a suggestion.

Companies check your credit now mostly to see if you are "hard up for cash" those with bad credit are more likely to still form the company. Don't let it get you down. There are still plenty of good jobs that wont care about your credit.

Before you dispute anything on your reports, check to make sure you are out of the statute of limitations (SOL) in your state.

If you are out of SOL, you might be able to dispute some or all of those accounts with the credit reporting agency's, if they are around 6 years and 6 months. Dispute them as obsolete.

I would suggest going to the site I've linked and learn how to clean up your reports.

How previous are you? do no longer you comprehend that girls ask trick questions? If a girl asks, "Does this costume make me seem fat?", you do no longer seem - you basically answer: "No". the answer to "in case you had a decision between me getting a boob interest or having liposuction on my thighs which might you go with for?" is in all hazard something alongside the lines of: "it is as much as you, yet you seem ideal to me basically the way you're." It sounds corny, yet you could desire to ward off getting sucked into those circumstances.

Yup...

Good credit

AND

a clean driver's license

Try to keep those in check because they can cost you gigs.

Like somebody said, we live and we learn.

At least you've learned before you have children to feed, mortgage payments to make, health benefits crucial to your spouse and kids.
