Well...

Saddam is captured, so fighting's kinda tough for him, though he does what he can...
There is rampant insurgency in Iraq. To me, that amounts for the people fighting for themselves. Without a government to fight for them, it is the best they can do.
Additionally, if you are a general or successful strategizer for a war (not to say G.W. Bush or anyone else is or isn't), you have much more value to your cause and the soliders under you in that capacity rather than in the line of fire.

Here is how your question would read if you could utilize spelling or grammar constructs:

Why don't they fight themselves?

Why don't Sadam or whoever George Bush is fighting just fight themselves? I mean if they really care about their country they would not let so many citizens die for it. George Bush should die for his country if he cares so much about it.

Yeah . . . the Iraqis should show to the world that they are determined people, they have their right for self-determination, that they can stand alone and settle their country's problems, both domestic and international concerns. They must show to the world that they are not terrorists, nor support any terrorists organizations, that they are peace loving people and promote and cooperate in the global endeavor to make the Earth a place safe to live in for all mankind, free of WMDs.

Because the main focus of George W. Bush is the War on Terror. The War in Iraq is a small step in the War on Terror. On another note, we want to find Osama bin Laden one way or another. We are the only country who is REALLY trying to find him. Pakistan and the others don't really care, but we do. That's why. :)

Saddam is in jail. It is hard to fight from there. The others are fighting, do you think we fight alone. Iraqis security forces lost over 5,000 in just the last year. They have lost several ministers on their cabinet & their families. The US has lost 2,500 in 4 years & no leaders.
They are trying to defend their country.

ok lets break it down over 300,000 AMERICANS die every year from heart disease, over 40,000 die every year from car wrecks compare that to 3000 at the WTC on 9/11 and 2500 service members since we invaded Iraq - Tragic I must admit but those 1.5 million deaths (340,000 x 4years) affected way more people-just something to think about
