I think ppl who identify themselves with organised religions like christianity and islam. They are doctrines of hate and gang formation to exploit individuals. They do so only to judge others and want others to practice their beliefs. If one were a real believer they would practice the message in their life and stop interfering in others lives and giving them sermons! Who are they to judge ppl when its only god's prerogative to send one to hell or heaven in the afterlife!

I think being an atheist is great by means of hot always thinking that someone will save you; that you're in control of your own life; but sometimes its best to be thakful to God every once in a while. Even if He may/may not exist. There's nothing to lose if you take 5 seconds of your time to say "Thanks, Big Guy!".But we shouldn't always think that "Oh, everything's gonna be alright. God's there, I'll just let Him handle my problems. I won't do anything. I'll take drugs, because God will fidn a way to make me quit anyway." you know, that kind of thinking.

We should take full control and responsibility of our own life, and to not always depend on God.

I'm Christian and my step father is Muslim. To tell you the truth, i haven't been to Church for three years but I take at least 2 minutes of my time to say a silent prayer to thank Him and ask for forgiveness. I don't convince my step father to convert into Christianity and he doesn't force me to convert to Islam. Although, some people do do that. IN THE END, IT'S NOT RELIGION THAT MAKES PEOPLE SEEM BAD, IT'S JUST CHARACTER.

I'm an agnostic/atheist type.

I disagree with a lot of what you are saying but there are some specific points I agree with.

I for one don't follow God's message of follow God, and clearly I don't have a doctrine of hate.

In any group religious or nonreligious you will find racists and sexists and homophobes who will use what they read to justify their insanity.

I know they sure know some quote from the Holy Book and sure twist them into a non belief questions.

maybe there are just afraid to ask the real question they want to, feeling people will think they are stupid because they don't understand the bible?

Who knows

i agree it is up to god where we spend eternity... i do not know really why there are atheists at all.... i can not imagine not believing in god...what hope do they have if they do not believe in god.. the bible has lasted longer than any book there is... i think it is gods plan for us to read and learn the word of god and to know him and if we believe in him as john 3 16 says we shall have everlasting life....i do not think any one can be judge down here on earth , because we are going to be dealt with my god ...i believe our soul goes back to god who gave it and none of us our good..it is just by the grace of god that we can have a home in heaven...the bible says judge not or you shall be judged...well i hope i helped a little on your question...i have talked to one girl that actually told me that she did not believe in god.. but as far as creation and how we were made and the miracles of god she did not have any idea... i think a lot has to do with the way you are taught as a child.. or if you meet someone along lifes way to show you the truth of the bible and how it is to have a relationship with god the father....

Have a mirror handy?
The shocker, people debating religious views on the Q+A section Religion and Spirituality.
What is wrong with these people?

Simmer down, now......

Sounds to me like you are exactly like one of those you condem. You seem to be doing a bit of judging yourself.
