For people who read the bible, and have great knowledge of Christ, and believers.

Suicide...I'm not suicidal, just thought its an interesting.

What If im a great christian, honoring God, Repenting, Forgiving, Loving, being more like God. And I cherish and praise him. But one day, I go through a bad day, real bad, that I want to kill myself to be somewhere better, HEAVEN.

Why would I go to hell for this? I just dont know why someone who is the above would go to HELL for having such a bad day, but wanting to go somewhere better, so they kill themselves.

I'd like to know.

We are saved by Faith & Hope, if you commit suicide you lost hope.

Romans 8:24 - For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?

We are saved if we endure to the End, if you kill yourself, then you didn't endure. You gave up, lost hope, lost faith in Jesus.

Matthew 24:13 - But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

We do not go right to Heaven when we die, we are asleep waiting for Jesus.

1 Thesalonians4:
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The dead rise first, from their sleep.

GOD IS THE JUDGE,
Job 4:17 - Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

I know God will take everything into consideration. I will not say that a person will not go to Heaven or be saved for committing a sin. God is the Judge. No one can say for sure.

Job 11:6
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.

You just don't say , wow I'm having a bad day, I think I'll kill myself. There is always going to be days that are bad, people you don't especially like, and situations you might not have control over, BUT you learn from it, grow in Godly character and know that the day will pass. JOY COMES IN THE MORNING.
To answer the second part of your question, if someone was to kill there self they wouldn't be all of the above. Suicide is something you think about for a long time, its a selfish act. How would you kill yourself and repent? Or would you try to work out a plan for pre meditated repentance, prior to drawing your last breath. ( I would hate to take that chance) Repentance is a gift, not something to mock, it must come from a broken heart.

I think suicide is a complicated matter. I leave them in God's hands, because He's the only One Who really knows their heart.

I think the main reasons for committing suicide are mental illness and giving up all hope.

I don't believe someone who was in a good relationship with God would commit suicide after having a bad day. No bad day is enough to take your life. There is usually a history of depression or of hopelessness.

Of course, hopelessness is not a frame of mind that a Christian should let go unchecked. Christ is our hope. I'm a firm believer in people getting help. There is an adage that God helps those who help themselves. I can't find that in the Bible. What I see is that God helps those who can't help themselves.

Do we have to work with the process? Sure. But God gives us resources - like our church families and our other friends and families. We have His word and His promises. And it's perfectly legitimate to seek counseling for depression. Death is the enemy. Suicide is looking at death as the answer, when Christ is the answer. It is, in a way, denying Him. It is also murder of the self. I would never say it was okay for those reasons.

I realize some people are ill and don't realize it and don't get the help they need. So I can't say that applies to them. It's complicated.

I know it sounds like a cop out, but my answer is that it belongs in God's hands.

If you have studied the Bible and had a personal relationship with Christ and a good prayer life, you know better than to kill yourself. You know how it will end, and you know that is not the way to handle it. If you kill yourself, you are going against what God wants you to do and has commanded you to do. It is bad because you know better, and you break the rules anyway.

Whether God actually sends everybody who kills themselves to Hell, I can't say. All I know is that God is ingfinitely wise and just, and will take care of anything that needs to be taken care of. I will never kill myself because I have faith in God. Commiting suicide is publicly professing otherwise.

I agree with the above answers. First, YOU are overriding God's will for when and where and how you die. Human life is sacred. You are a creation of God, and you belong to Him.

Second, it is the same as murdering yourself. Murder is one of the "Big 10."

Third, it is a slap in God's face. You are essentially saying that you have no faith that God can help you through the hard times of your life.

Fourth, you would be guilty of denying God's Word. ("Do not eat from the tree..." and then eating of the tree as if it were ok. It doesn't matter what you think about the tree or what you want to think about the tree. God said not to eat from it.) If you knew the Truth of God's word, you would know that you wouldn't be getting into heaven if you killed yourself. By killing yourself, you would be denying God's word. It is sad that not everyone gets into heaven. It would be nice if they did. But if you read the Bible and believe it, it's just not so.

It's a priviledge for us to have life. It is not for us to take it. Our lives belong to God. Even if you have the most horrible day, there have been people who are far worse than w/e one thinks is experiencing...if someone thinks about killing themselves to get to "heaven" it is a selfish thought. Besides, we're not going to Heaven OR Hell. You should really look up more information on the origin of the beliefs of "hell" and how the whole imagery they expose is truly from pagans.

My brother committed suicide, so I've thought extensively about this, as well as praying for peace and an answer to my questions.

What I've come up with, in answer to my prayers, is peace. I know that my brother is in a good place and that he is surrounded by people who love him and are able to help him.

That tells me that he is not in Hell.

That said, please don't even consider this as an option. You have no idea what it has done to my family, and to my brother's 4 children. You think it will make things better, but for those who have done it, it has only left behind a different kind of hell for the ones they loved.

We are all here for a purpose and must follow a natural order of things in order to fulfill that purpose.

When someone commits suicide, regardless of their reason for doing it, they are not following their God given path or fullfilling their purpose.

We all have a natural fear of death because God does not want us to want to go before our time is up. Even when things are going really bad for us, who's to say we can not learn a lesson from the bad times? Maybe something we are doing is affecting someone else's life path when we are having random moments?

I personally think we are always learning and growing and contributing. We are here for a reason, even if its really hard at times to see the big picture.

I dont think its a cut and dry "one answer fits all" kind of thing. I believe it has to do with the heart and the intentions of the heart. I am not so sure that someone has any faith left in God if they kill themselves and faith IS nessisary for Heaven. But, it's completely between God and the person. He may see it differently than I do.

You can't kill any of God's children...including yourself. I know first hand how cruel life can be, but it gets a whole lot worse when you go to hell (so I've read). Ask God for forgiveness, guidance, mercy, and grace. He loves you more than you could ever imagine!!! Let go and let God!

Be Blessed
