If you you get to watch the show Ghost Hunters on the sci-fi channel then watch it. They debunk alot of stuff on that show but come up with some genuinely freaky stuff.

Hi! All I can say is anyone will believe in ghosts WHEN they experience one! Yes, when I was around 14, and this is when loads of this ghostie stuff happens - around that age, especially for some reason with female adolescents, I had an encounter. I was lying in bed, asleep, and I woke up because something at the foot of the bed was standing there. I was so scared I shut my eyes and opened them a few seconds later and it was gone!
Then, I was sleeping again, same age, and woke up cause something was slowly, very slowly but steady, was pulling the covers off of my bed but nothing was there! I was so scared I think I fainted, or I dont know what, but woke up later and all was fine. So, go figure! P.s. - I lived in the country at the time, in PA., and the house was in an area where lots of people found arrow heads and Indian artifacts...NO---I did NOT live on top of an Indian Burial Ground, LOL!!! Anyway, havent seen one since except on TV. I do love that show Ghosthunters tho!!! Good luck and have fun with the answers, Lauren.

My brother saw "green people" once in our house when he was very little. My mom has also seen ghosts as well as a few old friends. One friend said he saw the ghost of my father and even described perfectly having never met him! Personally, I've had many experiences with spirits, but have never actually seen a ghost with my eyes. Whenever I feel the presence of a spirit I can only see it in my mind. And some of these spirits were not human.

The world is a pretty crazy, strange place. I think ghosts/spirits are real, but they exist on a different plane of reality and most can travel between their world and ours at will. My dad has visited me numerous times since he died, as has my grandfather and my friend Rich - even our family dog! It's very comforting.

I look at everything from a very skeptical point of view, though. Sometimes those bumps you hear in the middle of the night are natural sounds made by houses settling, animals moving about or just things shifting out of place. I've also heard a voice in my head twice - a very distinct voice sayig very distinct words and making a very distinct sound, but when the house is really quiet and I'm trying to go to sleep the constant hum of sound that exists often plays tricks on my mind and I think I'm hearing something when I'm not.

Or maybe I'm just crazy and delusional. I'd like to think that I am not, but I who knows?

We moved to a new city in 1975, and lived in a house for seven years. My dad always said we, his kids and wife, were crazy because we complained about a lot of freaky things happening there. Like opening a door to a room and having the door to anther one open at the same time. Or listening to someone walking around dragging their feet on the floor at three a.m. We had two dogs during those years and both died of fright, they would stand still and all the hair on their neck would stand up, they'd growl and bark like crazy but there was nothing there. Sometimes you woke up because somebody was sitting on your chest and you couldn't breathe, or seeing the curtains in a room flutter without any wind. Strange noises, misplaced objects, anniversary reactions. It seemed that the activity increased moving towards a fixed date, and after that the activity ceased. I remember coming home from school and finding yet ANOTHER priest sprinkling holy water and praying all over the house, maybe for the third time in a week. It seemed all the local priests knew my mom and at least they each visited the house twice. We played an super sleuths for a while and visited a relative who lived next door. Yep, you can guess, she was grandmother to a 14 year old kid that used to live there with his parents and kid brother, but they were in a plane accident and only the kid brother survived because he chose to stay with her instead. The freakiest event was the time we heard organ music, and people playing and splashing around 11:00 pm, the house had a pool. And if you looked out the window there was nothing there. Next morning we found an old broken 45R record with the hit song Tin Man by America, and when we mentioned finding a broken record his grandmother said that was his favorite song. I still get goosebumps when I remember that, it was sooo creepy, or the time when we heard someone running from one end of the garden to the other, there was a full moon and we were glued to the window, of course you could hear everything with doppler effect and everything, and to my dying day I can swear something ran past the window but there was nothing there. Eventually we moved out to another house and fortunately there was peace and quiet, we never experienced any wacky events there. The house was later used as an office and just out of curiosity we visited and some employees said no one wanted to stay there after closing hours, and all the strange things going on. Many years later the house was torn down and a parking lot replaced it. The other day I had this meeting close to that place and absolutely refused to park there. Frankly I was scared that entity might recognize me and follow me home. Stupid huh? but that only showed how scared I still am.

Yes, I believe in them & most people I know claim they have had encounters as well. There was a woman that had died in the house that we grew up in & my siblings claimed that they saw her ghost outside the window facing toward the garden.
We did have strange occurrences in the house (several light bulbs popping in the same room but then working properly later on without the bulbs being changed, things suddenly disappearing & showing up in the most unlikely places later on, cold spots, etc.) but these may be contributed more to poltergeist activity more to a haunting. We were a large family & poltergeists are very likely to be around adolescents.
My mother did have a very frightening [supernatural] experience in my sister's bedroom & would never sleep in that room after that.
I have seen a doppelganger of my cat (which is very likely--she is an evil thing!), & ectoplasm in the sense of an entity that could fully materialize.
I think that we all have the ability to see them if we only our minds to them. All children have the ability until it is "brain-washed" out of them, which I think is extremely sad. I think that if we were to keep an open mind to these type things it would be easier to open hearts & minds to other things as well, like being more acceptable of others [living] as well.

I have always been a believer
(part of this belief is that I won't let myself see a ghost because it would twack me out...)
but most people I've talked to HAVE a ghost story, pretty intense stories...and believable...
(not only this but people being saved by angels and spirits from disaster)
I've had personal experience w/ paranormal but have never witnessed an apparition before (again DON"T WANT TO!!)

This is one of my favorite topics. I do believe in ghosts. I believe that if someone dies before God says it his/her time that person's soul can't go to another dimension (heaven, hell) because his/her mission in Earth wasn't fulfilled.

And I do know people who has had encounters. One of those people is one of my best friends. She worked at an old building and there was a young boy's ghost. Some strange things happened there...

My sister has seen a man standing in the corner of her bedroom most nights since she was about 8 (she's 15 now.) Occasionally, when my mother and I are sitting up in the living room late at night, we will feel a breeze (even in winter) and catch a whiff of my grandmother's perfume. I believe in spirits more than I believe in ghosts, but I do think that "there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy" (to borrow a quote.)
