she will seek out a quiet place, she will most likely pant some and might mew a little bit; also check her backside for some mucous, etc.

You probably wont know . She may start acting like she doesn't want to be bothered and trying to find a place to hide. I took in a stray who was pregnant and she delivered around 6am. I woke up to the sound of a kitten crying and she was in her pet carrier. She got pregnant again within 6 weeks and again delivered in the early morning under my bed.(We then had her and the kittens fixed). Just make sure you set up a box with some blankets or towels in a closet or somewhere she feels safe and show her where it is. Don't forget to have her spayed!!!

Every cat I have ever seen about to give birth seem to go into a trance with heavy breathing and strong purring, but most go to a secluded spot and handle the business out of sight. I had a cat crawl up in my lap and a fter a few minutes her water broke. Same cat allowed my wife to help in the delivery of a litter.

She will be clingy...she'll hang around you everywhere you go. She'll start crying and trying to find a place to go like under your bed, in your closet, etc. She'll start crying alot and won't let you pick her up. Get her a blanket or towel you don't care about and put it some where quiet and safe. Take her to it often so she can get her scent on it and get used to going there. Hope this helps.

you will probably notice her getting restless, maybe pacing a little bit. she may tense up periodically and she may make little meowing noises although not all cats do. ideally she will go into the box you've prepared for her and lie down close to the time. she may not settle down though.

she will look around for small areas to give birth, usually somewhere quiet and out of a high traffic area.
