Use your pool of talents. if you've got people who can play musical instruments, try form a band and play on the streets. If its good enough it will attract people to donate money. Say its for a good cause. If youve got people who can draw, set up a carricature booth. Explain that the sales go to charity. If you got people who can do crafts, make small sellable stuffs like pencil holders, paper weight, greeting cards. Sell them to offices. If you've got somebody who can bake, bake cookies. Sell them to offices too. Wash cars. Sell drinks. Whatever it is, use your God-given talents.

Candy sales are always good. You can either contact "Worlds finest Chocolate" or you could always go to Sam's Club, buy your candy and then sell them. This great, because you'll have repeat customers and there's no collecting orders, delivering, etc.

"Anti-Bush" is *in*... why not formulate some kind of theme around that?...

Car washes are always a hit too -- (I hate to say it, but I suspect the reason is because ol' dudes driving cars like lookin' at young ladies in little clothes washin' them)

If you think your cause is news-worthy, you could always contact your local talk-radio or newspaper to help with publishing.
