elope! then ask the guests to a dinner later on...much easier and well within budget. You can have 150 guests at $30 per plate and have $500 left or invite a few more guests to dinner.

Some friends of ours (ballroom dance friends) got married at some very large hall at some park in San Diego. It was in a big part near Sea World with an Air and Space Museum next door. Anyway, because we are al dancers, the wedding was held in this large place with a GREAT floor! It was so much fun and I don't think they spent a lot of money on it. Ruben H. Fleet Park seems to come to mind, but I could be wrong.

If you know anyone with a big beautiful backyard - ask them if you can hold it there. That way, your biggest expense is the food and drink. I held a wedding in my backyard under those big white tarps with lights strung under it, rented tables and chairs, plates flatware, linens and was able to afford to serve a carved beef and chicken selection to 120 ppl for less than $5000 - that included a keg of Pyramid Hefewiezen and the champagne! (In Southern California...) Actually if you sevre just the chicken selection, you're $$ can go even further. e-mail me if you want some more details - I'd be happy to share my planning tools with you. vlozano17@hotmail.com
