Blocked tear ducts do go away by themselves sometimes....but eye infection does have very similar symptoms as well, i.e. swollen or red eye, frequent eye scratching, yellow discharge, retracted cornea, etc....so I'll still suggest you bring your cat to the vet to have it checked out if it doesn't clear up in a couple of days....especially if her eye's looking redder than usual.
In the meantime, try placing a warm towel (not hot!) over the affected eye, and massaging the area around the eye in circular motion....the direction doesn't matter. If you can feel a clot near the eye duct, try dissipating it with a slightly firmer massage in that area...but take care not to press too hard....remember that what is gentle touch to you may hurt your Persian, since she's so much smaller in size.
Good luck!

Yes, I have. Brew some tea with a teabag. Squeeze out the liquid and let cool to luke warm. aply this on the eye. Keep it over the eye for 2-3 minutes. Repeat this 3-4 times daily.

Sometimes it will go away on its own. Try massaging it. Small circular motion between the corner of the eye and nose. If it does not go away call the vet. It may take a few days.
