Many theories exist:
1.) God put us here to play his game of good and bad
2.) A comet brought water to our planet, thus starting life
3.) Humans (as an intergalactic race) decided that Earth was a great place to start a whole new world and shot human juice through space to land here and start life
And the flipside to that question:
We are here to make this world a bit better whether it is by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition
