Children brought up right and educated properly about the fact of the human interaction will always listen to what is taught to them. If your wife has bonding issues and you being the enabler do not look at her for loving that child that much. You always will Love your child unconditionally so if you all have the big talk when it will/has crossed the line you are ok.

Embrace the fact that she loves the child you that came from you. You should be flattered !!! In the south seeing your parent parading around up until your teenage years is common and it numbs them from the mysteries of the opposite sex. You can always tell that fact when they are older and you do not have that open communication with you about the opposite sex. Even when they are suppose to be comfortable talking with there parents.

Keep the conversation open with your child one on one and ask them are they uncomfortable with mommy taking showers with em. Also make sure the child knows your place in this role if you do not agree then make sure the child knows your feelings and it will work itself out - either the child will learn to talk with you or you 2 will close that communication up. They just tell you what you want to hear and that is no good for the child's development.

I think parents shouldn't take shower with their children. They should have their own privacy. But they can help them until 6 or 7 . Because some children are old enough while others are not. I helped my son until 7.Then one day he was happy that he could dry his back without any difficulty . Since then he refused anyone's help.

I'm sorry, no offense, but that is disgusting. Your son is a big enough boy now that he can wash himself and your wife needs to learn to let go of that. Tell her to take showers with you instead.

He's a little old to be taking showers with his mother. I would make it stop as soon as the child was old enough to recognize the difference between boys and girls.

When your son sees an interest in women or looks at your wife's privates then they need to stop. I would say when they are capable to take showers on their own then you break it there.

I personally think your son is way to old for that! I still shower with my 23 month old, but he is about to start showering with his father or brothers. I have stopped them all before they turned 3. I still wash them until they are old enough to handle it around age 4, but after that they don't see me undressed and I don't want to see them undressed.

No, you should stop this now, we dont know what may this cause your son.

He may have traumas when he gets older by knowing the fact that he took showers with his mom, or even worse, that he saw her naked.

Also, he must become independent and learn to take a bath by himself, because that may also cause problems to him, like not wanting to shower if his mom isnt there, this is similar to sleeping on parents bed.

Wow, 7 years old? She needs to stop taking showers with him ASAP. He's at that age now where he's probably going to be asking "mommy, what's that?" He's too young to be worrying that kinda stuff.

There's nothing technically wrong with nudity. It's just a cultural stereotype that people shouldn't see people of the opposite gender naked. Like a previous poster said, you should have a conversation with your wife about it. Maybe she thinks he isn't ready to bathe himself.
