Yes, the old testament is the Word of God, the old testment was under the Law, that is what they lived by until Jesus came and died for the sin of the world. Then the old testment was fulfilled and a new covenent was made and that is what we live by.

~They have to. They evolved from Jews, and the Old Testament is the Jewish book. If they didn't, they'd be stuck believing the same stories with the Greek, Roman, Indian, Scandanavian or other characters and then where would the born agains be.

There is no such thing as OLD TESTAMENT.
THat division was unknown to those who(guided by spirit),
collected what together what is today called the Bible.
The whole collection is the inspired word of God(not god).
And yes, Christians do believe THIS to be true.

Yes, Christians believe that the bible was written by a group of men who got the stories told to them by God Himself.

Well, it seems they do in looking for a biblical basis to be against homosexuality, because there's nothing explicitly against it in the New Testament.

Probably, but they easily overlook slavery, stoning to death for stupid reasons (like child disobedience) and other crap like that. Apparently only some parts are, either that or God has "changed" since then.
