in the Iraq & Afghanistan wars? In the war against terror?

I believe the liberal media in this country is as much of an enemy to the American soldier as the Taliban and al-Queda is. They completely destroy morale and the trust of the government. I am so sick of the slandering of our military on every stinking news channel on TV. This type of thing never happened during WWII. Let's leave the negativity to the whining-*** foreign press and start supporting our courageous troops giving their lives so the sorry American press corps can keep rreporting want they want to believe and what is actual fact.

The media did not do enough to question the lead up to the war in Iraq. After all, we were already at war in Afghanistan at the time. If a free press has the function of making gov't transparent in a democracy, they sure were lax. They were afraid to say George Bush is lying and gave him the benefit of the doubt rather than assertively question whether Saddam/Iraq had anything to do with 9/11. The result is that americans were led to believe Iraq had something to do with 9/11 and the media did nothing to clarify. It rolled over like a big ole fat dog.

The media merely does it's job, sometimes it does'nt do it well sometimes it does and sometimes it shows the pictures someone wants you to see. Just because of that it does'nt mean there is some vast conspiracy against a certain ideology. People should'nt be afraid to go looking for the truth themselves when the media is incapable of delivering it. The real sad thing is alot of people out there don't bother to verify the claims of certain media outlets, they just assume that every word is true. Remember that most media is run by some sort of massive multinatonal corporation with way more interests in mind than just getting the truth out there. Having said all that, they have'nt done enough to show the good that our troops have done and they have done enough to show the ugly face of war, and the other side of the war, not just ours, thats the media's job.

American Media should be ashamed of themselves. It's one thing (being a former soldier) that we're fighting a meaningless war in which thousands of our bretheren are losing their lives. It becomes that much more horrifying when our own media spills out each and every detail. Thus, the Iraqi militias and such gain an advantage by throwing such details in the faces of many Iraqi civilians. The media should be held accountable if not as much as our President for allowing American blood to be spilled on foreign lands, from the stories and pictures they post in newspapers, on TV, and over the internet. There's a difference between being aware, and being overwhelmed.

Depends on what you mean. Prior to the wars...the media was embarrassingly lax in questioning the reasoning for war. Basically believed everything the administration said and reported it as gospel. Presently, the media is more concerned with reporting about gay marriage legislation or anything else that isn't the war. We really don't have true journalism in this country anymore. And some "networks" (cough cough Fox cough) aren't even news networks anymore. They're PR firms for the administration.

The media has this tendency to only report bad news. Mostly because it sells, and no matter what anyone in the news industry tells you. If you don't sell copies of your newspaper/magazine or get people to watch your show, you will go out of business. So you have to do what gets people to pick up the newspaper/turn on your station. In America, it's "shock" value. (Howard Stern).

It not just about the truth, it's about ratings. Consequently, the news out of Iraq is only the bad news, not the good news. Good news doesn't sell.

They have tried to sabotage the war from the beginning. If the media was like this during either of the World Wars, the American people wouldn't have supported them either.

They have confused the public & twisted the facts to make the President seem to be wrong in his decisions. For the intelligent people, they have been amusing to watch the predictable statements. For the easily led they have accepted whatever the press says as the truth. This the same group that declared the wrong president instead of waiting for the votes to be counted.

The Media are only out to get ratings so they are only going to show all bad things. I would love for them to show the good things our Military are doing in Iraq.
