is there a better chance if you start prenatal pills before

Prenatal vitamins should be taken while you're trying to conceive, because the folic acid is vital to the spinal cord of the baby. The problem is, when that folic acid is MOST effective is before many women even know they're pregnant, and by that time, the critical time has passed (although it's still very useful).
Prenatal vitamins will not increase your chances of conception, but Clomid will. Clomid is a prescription drug that your OB/GYN or Reproductive Endocrinologist would prescribe to you if your ovaries don't release enough eggs on a predictable basis.

no don't take prenatals before!!

they are actually lower in most vitamins than regular one a day vitamins! the one thing they have more of is iron which you cant take extra of unless you are anemic or it can cause health problems!

get a good multivite with at least 400mcg of folic acid, less than 600mg calcium and less than 8000IU vitamin A as retinol (betacarotene is fine though)

oh and chance of conceiving is 25% or one in four

They won't help your chances. And prenatal vitamins also have iron which cause serious constipation!!!
