A lot of the OT rules were more practical than theological. The whole thing about washing your hands before eating or about isolation when you have a contagious disease just makes sense from a practical point of view. The same with shrimp, or at least with shellfish in general. I'm sure you've heard of Red Tide, for instance. Shellfish can make people very sick, and if you can't figure out when they're safe and when they're not, then they should be avoided.

LOL....He doesn't hate shrimp - after all, why would he create something that he hates! His whole point was to seperate a nation from all of the other nations, they would be identified by their cleanness, so he told them the foods to avoid. If you notice most of those animals that he told them to avoid were scavengers. (People who have serious food allergies are told to avoid those types of animals today because they'll send people into an allergic reaction.) If you read in the Greek scriptures after Jesus was resurrected, these laws were done away with and anyone could eat anything (except for blood) and still be considered clean.

Where did you get the idea that God hates shrimp? God doesn't even need to eat, so why should he hate shrimp?

Shrimp have tail fins and a type of scale on their fins-as for making them helpless to man and becoming shrimp cocktail, it's not that God hates shrimp but loves man and wants them to have a tasty dish.

Don't know why "MickyD" thinks God doesn't eat, he does. He don't like shrimp because they're a pain in the a$$ to shell. Thats why and they also make his colesterol sky rocket. lol

I'm sorry you got so many moronic answers to your question. He is the Master nutritionist. He knows how He created them and He's just giving instruction about how to maintain your health. Because they practised His quarantine laws given in Leviticus, the Jews did not get the plague in the middle ages.

Turns out he got sick at a Long John Silvers back in the 40's. Ever since he just can't do it. I think it was the Tartar sauce, but once he get's something stuck in his mind, well you know.
